Mystery Photo 9-26

Yeah, a wee bit later than normal, but I didn’t forget. So much going on right now but it is all good stuff and that I brought upon myself so I can’t complain. Well, I could, but nobody will listen . . .

Okay, enough whining, let’s get to the Mystery Photo, right! Last week’s photo from from the 1957 film The Vampire, starring John Beal. While not really a supernatural vampire film, it is still a fun watch. And boy, when that image pops up that I used for the mystery pic, didn’t expect that for a film back then! Only got three correct answers sent in and they were from: Hoby Abernathy, Kevin Hart, and Bob Hartman! Well done!

This week’s photo is a little newer than 1957, but we’ll see how easy it might be. Take a peek and see what you think! As always, remember to send your guess to me in an email (makes it easier for me to remember!) to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 9-19

I apologize for not only no Mystery Photo last Monday, but also for the lack of updates. Last weekend was HorrorHound and that was quite a weekend. In a good way, but exhausted when I got home. Plus, with October looming over, I’ve got a lot on my plate right now. Granted, I kept asking for it, so I have no one to blame but myself. But if the passion is still burning, might as well keep throwing wood on it! Enough of that. Let’s get to the business at hand. Our last photo was from the Lovecraft “inspired” film The Shuttered Room (1967), starring Oliver Reed and Carol Lynley. Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Gregory Avery, Dada Debaser, Dave Fronto, Kevin Hart, Charles Miller, Lee Nattrass, Michael Shields, and Nick Wilson. Well done!

Going for something a little more obscure with this week’s photo, so buckle up and put those thinking caps on! Take a peek and see what you think. Just remember, send your guess to me in an email, at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 9-5

That’s right, folks. It is officially September, which means Halloween is just a short time away. Granted, we all know that every day is Halloween, right! But let’s get to business. Our photo from last week was from French director Jean Rollin’s 1972 film Requiem pour un vampire, or as most know it as Requiem for a Vampire or even Caged Virgins. No matter how you feel about Rollin and his work, you can’t take away from the imagery that he gave us, and the shot I used is a perfect example. Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Aaron AuBuchon, Brian Doerin, Dave Fronto, Bob Hartman, Lee Nattrass, Bryan Senn, Michael Shields, and Kristin Wicks. Well done. Always love it when one of these cult filmmakers gets some attention!

For our first photo of September, I thought I’d go with something a little more mainstream. Well, a little. Let’s see if you recognize this one. Just remember, send your guess to me in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 8-29

A wee bit late today, but that’s because we’re still recovering from our weekend at the drive-in in Shelbyville, IN. Had a great time, hanging out with some good friends and seeing some amazing films on the big screen. It makes a film fan whole again, even if for only a short time. But on to business! Our photo from last week was from Richard Stanley’s 1992 film Dust Devil! Such a great little film, filled with a ton of style and atmosphere, just like Stanley does. Only got one correct answer this time and that was from Kevin Hart! Well done!

On to this week’s photo, one that is a little more off the beaten path. Take a peek and see what you think. Just remember, send your guess to us in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 8-22-22

Here we are, Monday again. We need to stop meeting like this, don’t you think? But since we’re here, we might as well get a little work done, right? Our photo from last week was from Abel Ferrara’s black & white vampire flick The Addiction (1995), which I would recommend seeing. Only got three correct answers sent in, from Hoby Abernathy, Aaron Christensen, and Dada Debaser. Well done.

This week’s photo is a personal favorite of mine, from a director I really admire. Too much information? Maybe. But take a look and see if you recognize it. Just remember to send us your guess in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 8-15

Seems I slept through last Monday and never got around to posting a new photo. For shame, I know. But now this week! But let’s review our photo from two weeks ago. It was from the 1997 film Habitat, starring one of my favorite actresses, Alice Krige. Always enjoyed her work ever since Ghost Story (1981). Kudos to the following who sent in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Kevin Hart, Bob Hartman, Lee Nattrass, and William Wilson. Nice job!

Okay, this week’s photo might be a little tricky so pay close attention to it. Give it a peek and then send me your guess in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 8-1

Brand new month, brand new week, brand new photo. But before we get to that, let’s go over last week’s photo. It was from the 1943 film Dead Men Walk, starring George Zucco in a sweet dual role, as well as Dwight Frye! Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Kevin Hart, Bob Hartman, Troy Howarth, Gary McGuire, and Bryan Senn. Always thrilled when a little obscure flick from the ’40s gets some love.

Okay, on to this week’s photo, which is another little obscure one, but from a little bit more modern time. Take a peek, then send your guess to me in an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 7-25

Here we are, our last Mystery Photo for July. That means the summer is more than half over and Halloween season is just around the corner. Granted, for most of us, Halloween is all year round. Just need to get those temps down outside! Our last photo was from the little anthology film Nightmares (1983), in the segment “The Benediction” with Lance Henriksen battling a truck from hell. Always one of my favorites from that period. Kudos to the following that sent in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Aaron Christensen, Lee Nattrass, and Will Wilson. Great job!

For those that thought that last photo was tough, this one might be a little harder, unless you’re a fan of those pesky old black and white films. Just remember to send me your answer in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 7-18

Sure, sure, a little late in the day but still got time until the stroke of midnight, right? So let’s not waste any more time. Our photo from last week was that of the fine actor Alberto Dalbés from his role as Dr. Seward in Jess Franco’s epic The Erotic Rites of Frankenstein (1973). You want to see a bat-shit crazy movie, that includes a silver Frankenstein’s monster and some sort of bird/lady creature than look no further! Kudos to the following that sent in the correct answer: Aaron AuBuchon, Dave Fronto, and Troy Howarth.

On to this week’s photo! Sure, might look like an ad to get you to buy a new vehicle, but not quite. Take a peek and see if you can recognize which film this appeared in. And no, it’s not just some random shot of a truck. Give me a little more credit than that! Don’t forget though, send your answer to me in an email (so I won’t lose it) to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 7-11

Is it Halloween season yet? For any of those sun-lovers out there who just love the heat, I’m sorry but I’ll be happy when the temps are hitting the ’50s and we have those dark and cloudy days. But until then, I guess we’ll just worry about getting a new Mystery Photo up before the day is over! We only had two correct answers for last week’s photo, which was from Werner Herzog’s 1979 version of Nosferatu. I knew I couldn’t put a shot of Kinski up since EVERYONE would have known it then! But kudos out to Troy Howarth and Mike Tutino for sending in the correct answer. Nice job, guys!

For this week’s photo, we’re wading through some obscure waters, or at least for a lot of you. But maybe for those that are using to doing more than dipping your toe into the strange and weird, you might recognize this shot. If you do, send your answer to me, at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Either way, Good Luck!
