Oops…Guess I forgot to post this yesterday!

Welcome to the last Monday before October! Let the celebration begin! Granted, that is probably one of the reasons for the lack up updates lately, just having so many things going on, or getting prepared for what’s coming. Last weekend we were at the Midway Drive-in for what possibly might be their last Dust-to-Dawn show, since the drive-in is now up for sale. And the weekend before that was HorrorHound Weekend. So, we’re trying to regroup and take the time to get ready for what’s coming next month. We have our last 2 events, Monster Bash and the Music Box of Horrors, as well as hoping to be able to enjoy the month as well! Now, down to the business at hand! The pic from last week was from Andy Milligan’s Guru, The Mad Monk (1970), which if you like Milligan’s work then you’ll enjoy this one. I know I did! Congrats to the following who sent in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Kevin Hart, Michael Pniewski, Bryan Senn, Mike Shields, Vincent Simonelli. Well done!

This week’s photo is a prelude to something coming . . . But take a look at the photo and see if you recognize where this shot is from. Just remember to send your guess to me in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. And good luck!

A little late today with the update but still recovering from spending the day Saturday at the drive-in, which rained most of the day. But that didn’t stop fans from coming out to show support. Just loved it. But let’s get down to business. Last week’s photo was from Hammer’s Quatermass and the Pit aka Five Million Years to Earth (1967), which always has me trying to decide if I like Andrew Keir better as Prof. Quatermass or Brian Donlevy, which I usually go back and forth and never decide! Who cares, right? They both do a great job. Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Dave Fronto, Kevin Hart, Vincent Simonelli, Ian Sutherland, and Todd Warren.

On to this week’s photo. Take a gaze at this couple and see if you can recognize which movie this is from. Just remember to send me your answer in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good luck!

We got back from HorrorHound Weekend early this morning, so going on about 4-5 hours of sleep. I apologize up front for any errors! But we had one hell of a time at the show, so thanks to everyone that came out and stopped by our table, to buy some books or just talk movies!!! Such a fun weekend. But let’s get to business. It looks like our last photo stumped a bunch of our regulars. The movie is David Schmoeller’s Crawlspace (1986), starring the one and only Klaus Kinski! Kudos to Hoby Abernathy and Christopher Highland for sending in the correct answer!

Okay, let’s get to this week’s photo, so I can go take nap! Take a peek below and see if you can recognize what movie this is from. Just remember to send your guess to me in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good luck!

Welcome to September! Hopefully the temps outside are dropping a bit and we can feel like we’re not living in an oven! Not to mention that Halloween is not only just around the corner, but this October is looking to be, once again, busy as hell with a lot of fun things to do. But first, a little business. Last week’s photo was from Hangover Square (1945), directed by John Brahm and starring Laird Cregar, who had just worked together the previous year on The Lodger (1944). I couldn’t recommend both movies enough! Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Cate Cameron, Dave Fronto, Vincent Simonelli, and William Wilson. Well done!

This week’s photo is a little more current, so take a peek below and see what you can come up with. Just remember, as always, just send your guess to me in an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Just one more week to go and we’ll start the fall season! It’s amazing to have seen Halloween decorations up in the stores over a month ago! Not sure why they just leave that stuff up all year round, Am I right??? Our photo from last week was of course, from Takashi Miike’s Audition (1999). I think everyone that has seen that film remembers it quite well… even if we try to forget! And can you believe that came over 27 years ago!?!?! Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Todd Barwick, Tom Brennan, Aaron Christensen, Dada Debaser, Chris Dyer, Tim Palace, Michael Pniewski, Chris Richmond, Jeremy Smith, William Wilson, and Greg Wojick. Well done.

This week, we’re going old school again with a nice black and white one. Hopefully you agree that these films never get old and are still entertaining. But we’ll see if you recognize it first. Just send me your answer, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. And most of all, Good Luck!

Our photo from last week was from the low-budget classic Don’t Look in the Basement (1973), from S.F. Brownrigg. Though originally titled The Forgotten (which is actually a real good title for this picture), changing it to one of the many “Don’t” titles probably didn’t hurt it. While they are cheaply made, Brownrigg did some amazing stuff which what he had, and I would recommend seeking this one out, if you haven’t seen it. A great example of a regional independent horror film creator. Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Kevn Hart, Ken Johnson, Michael Pniewski, Mike Shields, and William Wilson. Well done!

This week’s photo is one that really packs a punch and is one you never forget. Take a look below and see if you recognize where this shot is from. Just remember to send your guess to me in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

We are back from our long-ass drive down to Atlanta for Monsterama Con but I had to make sure I got in today’s update with the new photo! We had a blast at the show and I’m sure we’ll have more details later, but for now, let’s get down to business. Last week’s photo was from Horror Hospital (1973), not the film Psychomania aka The Death Dealers, that came out the same year. I think it was the motorcycle helmet that threw a few people. But congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Dada Debaser, Kevin Hart, and William Wilson. Well done.

Now on to this week’s photo. Take a peek and see if you can recognize this one! Just remember to send me your answer in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. And good luck!

Welcome to August! Just one more month until (hopefully) the heat starts to lighten up a bit! And of course, we’re then closer to the Halloween season! Then again, we also know that EVERYDAY is Halloween, right? We survived our weekend at Flashback Weekend and had a lot of fun, as usual. This week we’ll be heading to Atlanta for our first time at Monsterama and really looking forward to that one! But let’s get to business. Our photo from last week was from the classic big monster film Them! (1955), the one that started it all here in the states. Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Jennifer Pike-Cruz, Christopher Dyer, Dave Fronto, Kevin Hart, Bob Hartman, Charles Miller, Bryan Senn, Vincent Simonelli, and Mickey Thompson. Well done, folks!

Now take a look at today’s photo and see if you can recognize this one. Might be a little tough, so don’t think too long or get stuck in the mud! Remember to send your guess to me in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. And most of all, Good Luck!

Yeap. Today definitely was a Monday. Granted, since we’re off Friday for the Flashback Weekend convention, I’ve always said that just means 20% more crap for each of the four days prior! And today was a perfect example. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to miss out on posting today’s photo!!! Our last photo was from the amazing made-for-TV movie Satan’s School for Girls, from 1973, when you could have teleplays about Big Lou trying to entice young girls at school. Great cast too, with Pamela Franklin, Kate Jackson, Cheryl Ladd, and Roy Thinnes. Fun stuff. Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Dave Fronto, Kevin Hart, AJ McIntyre, Mike Shields, Vincent Simonelli. Well done!

Now on to this week’s photo. Going with another black and white classic, but maybe not too easy to recognize from this particular shot. Take a good look and see if you can figure it out. Just remember to send your answer to me in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!
