Mystery Photo 6-18

Yeah, yeah…running a little late today. But better late than never, right! I will say that I thought for sure that I would stump everyone with last week’s photo, since it is a little obscure independent but I was proved wrong, by THREE people! The film is called Wendigo, or Frostbiter: Wrath of the Wendigo, that came out in 1995. If you like stop-animated monsters, than you’ll enjoy this one. This one is a prime title for a Turkey Day marathon and will be screening this November at ours. Kudos to the following for recognizing this little gem: Hoby Abernathy, Margaret Santiago, and Will Wilson. Well done!

Okay, let us get to this week’s photo. This one might be pretty easy, but there is a little reasoning behind it. Plus it’s a damn fun movie. So gave at the photo and hopefully you don’t end up like the guy in the photo!

As always, please remember not to post your answers here so others can have a guess. Just send your guess to us in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 6-11

I got to say I was pretty happy to see all the answers coming in from last week’s photo. I thought by using an old black and white one of just a little child that it might stump most of you, but oh how I was wrong. Indeed, the little girl was about to scream THEM!, which is where the photo is from. One of the best of the giant insect movies ever made! Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Cate Cameron, Aaron Christensen, Dave Fronto, Rick Hayden, Ken Johnson, Doug Lamoreux, Charles Miller, Nick Riccio, and Kristin Wicks.

Now on to this week’s little photo. This one might be a little tougher, but give it a peek and see what you might be able to come up with. Good Luck!

And as always, please remember not to post your answers here so others can have a guess at it. Just send your answers to us via email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com.

Mystery Photo 6-4

It’s always nice to start the week off with a little bit of trivia, right? Hoping to make it start off on a good note if you recognize our little photo. For this last one, quite a few people knew that the screen shot was from Bob Clark’s 1974 film Deathdream (or Dead of Night, or The Night Andy Came Home). Kudos to the following people: Hoby Abernathy, Scott Bradley, Cate Cameron, Craig Clark, Richard Garcia, Jennifer Glonek, Troy Howarth, Gary Miller, Richard Schellbach, Michael Shields, Kristin Wicks, Will Wilson, and Greg Wojick. I figured that since it was Memorial Day, it was appropriate to post a photo about losing a loved one in the military. In all honestly, I think this film, even though a horror film, really shows the devastation that it brings to the families when hearing that kind of news.

So let’s get to this week’s photo, shall we? Digging into the history files for this little black and white classic, so let’s see if the name comes to your mind, as it is about to for this little girl. Remember not to post your answers here so others can have a guess at it. Instead, just drop us an email (jon@kitleyskrypt.com) with your guess. Good luck!

Mystery Photo 5-28

Wasn’t sure if I was going to have a new photo this week, since we just got back into town last time, but since I have today off, I figured I could make time. It might be an easy one, but there is a reason for my madness. But before we get to the new photo, let’s review last week’s! It was from Amicus’ anthology film From Beyond the Grave, featuring the lovely Angela Pleasence. Kudos to the following that sent in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Doug Lamoreux, and Troy Howarth. Well done!

Okay…so below is this week’s little pictorial puzzle, so see what you can come up with. As always, please remember NOT to post your answers here so that others can have a guess. Thank you and good luck!

Mystery Photo 5-21

I think we might have set a new record this time out. Granted, I don’t keep track of the highest number of correct answers sent it, but I don’t remember the last time we got 15 of them! Well done people! The photo was from the 1974 film Sugar Hill, which I have to say has some of the best looking voodoo zombies around. Congrats to the following who sent in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Wendy Bodine, Jamie Chimino, Rob Floyd, Dave Front, Troy Howarth, Toni Keen, Doug Lamoreux, Martin Meeks, Phil Meenan, Charles Miller, Gary Miller, Michael Shields, Mike Tutino, Will Wilson, and Greg Wojick.

So let us see how well we do on this week’s photo. Let’s see if we can top that record! Take a look below and see what comes to mind. Might be easy, might not. Of course, we always want to remind you not to post your answers here in the comment section, so others can have a chance at guessing. Just send your guess to us in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 5-14

Welcome to Monday, once again. Starting the week off very early, so better get this posted now. Our last photo was from the infamous José Mojica Marins, or better known as Coffin Joe. The film was the second film in his Coffin Joe Trilogy, Esta Noite Encarnarei no Teu Cadáver (1967), or as most of us know it, This Night I’ll Possess Your Corpse. There is nothing quite like a Coffin Joe movie, as fans of his movies know quite well. Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Cate Cameron, Kuba Haczek, Martin Meeks, and Kristin Wicks. We’re also give a little a shout out to Greg Wojick, since while he did guess the wrong Coffin Joe movie, at least he was damn close!

Now on to this week’s photo, which we’re going back to color! This was a rare title for a long time back in “the old days” and I’ve always loved the look of these… monsters. Take a good look and if you can’t recognize what movie they are from. Remember, as always, please do not post your answers here, but instead send them to me in an email, address to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 5-7

Another Monday here, so that must mean a new photo, right? Been a little busy at the Krypt in the last week or so, but at least I have been able to manage to get a new photo up each Monday. Got to look at the positives, right? Speaking of which, here are the ones that sent in the correct answer for last week’s photo: Hoby Abernathy, Troy Howarth, and Michael Shields. And what was the shot from? None other than Pete Walker’s 1976 film The Confessional (aka House of Mortal Sin). Want to see a real twisted priest, then check out this little British gem!

Okay, so on to this week’s photo. This one might be a little tough, but we’ll see how good you are. Remember, please do not post your answers here so others can have a chance. Just send your guest to us in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 4-30-18

Can you believe that April is almost over? We’re a quarter way through 2018 already. Time flies, huh? So I guess there’s no time to waste but then to get to our latest mystery photo. BUT….as always, let’s review last week’s. It was from William Castle’s underrated classic, Strait-Jacket (1964), starring the one and only Joan Crawford. Seriously, if you haven’t seen this one, it is worth checking out. Kudos to the following that sent in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Aaron Christensen, Dave Fronto, Bill Harrison, Troy Howarth, Toni Keen, Charles Miller, Michael Shields, and William Wilson.

Now on to our latest photo. Might be easy, might be hard, but it is definitely a bloody one! Give it a peek, and see what you can come up with. As always, PLEASE remember not to post your answers here. Instead, just drop us an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com and let us know your guess. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 4-23

Yes, it is that time again … Monday morning. But at least we have a new Mystery Photo, which should make starting the day off just a little better, right? Last week, the photo was from one that usually doesn’t get a lot of credit other than being a cheap monster flick, but I happen to think its a pretty damn good one, the 1959 epic The Killer Shrews! Kudos to the following that sent in the correct answer: Aaron Christensen, Dave Fronto, James Horgan, Keena Jones, Charles Miller, Gary Miller, Richard Schellbach, and Michael Shields. Nice to see so many identifying this just from some crates and the backs of the cast!

Now onto this week’s photo. Another fun classic. Well, sort of. Take a look and see what you can come up with. As always, please do not post your answers here so that others can have a go at it. Just send me a email with your guess to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 4-16

Didn’t think we’d miss a Mystery Photo two weeks in a row, did you? I’ll blame Cinema Wasteland for last week not having an updated photo. But here is today’s new photo, better late than never. But before we get to it, let’s go over the last one. It was from Norman J. Warren’s Prey, also known as Alien Prey for those that remember the old VHS days. Great little low budget flick. Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Aaron Christensen, Michael Shields, and William Wilson.

Now on to this week’s photo. Going old school again with another black and white title, so see if you old timers can guess it! As always, please do not post your answers here, but instead send them to us in an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!
