Mystery Photo 8-5

Welcome to our first Mystery Photo of August! We would have had this a little sooner today but after having one hell of a time the last few days at Flashback Weekend, we’re still recovering! But let’s get down to business! The photo from last week was from  Norman J. Warren’s Bloody New Year (1987). The only one with the correct answer was William Wilson, so kudos goes out to him.

Now this one is going to be tricky. The creature might look familiar, but will you know which movie it is from??? Take a look and find out! As always, please remember not to post your answers here, so others can have a guess. Just send them to us in an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 7-29

Another glorious Monday. Yeah. Let’s get down to business. Our photo from last week was from the 1983 film Mausoleum, starring Marjoe Gortner & Bobbie Bresee. Such a fun memory from the ’80s. Congrats to Gavin Schmitt and William Wilson for sending in the correct answer.

Let’s see what you can do with this little gem. Take a look, make a guess. But please remember not to post your answers here in the comments section so that others can have a chance at guessing. Good luck!

Have we survived the summer heat? With all those 100 degree temps? Hopefully if you did have to go outside for any long period of time, you stayed hydrated. Our photo for this week might be something like I would like just by going outside in the sun! But before we get to that, let’s go over last week’s photo. It was from the amazing film Resolution, by two incredible filmmakers, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. This is just a small indie film, with a very small cast, but will pack a punch and is so well done. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. As well as their other films, Spring (2014) and The Endless (2017). Kudos to Bryan Martinez and William Wilson for sending in the correct answer. Honestly, I think there was one or more that sent in the correct answer but for the life of me, I either didn’t save the email or make myself a note. So if you did and I missed it, I apologize.

Okay, on to this week’s photo. It’s a real brain-buster! Yeah, I know… too easy. Take a look and see what you can come up with. As always, please don’t post your answers here so others can have a chance. Just send them to us in an email (to jon@kitleyskrypt.com). Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 7-9

Yes, I know, a day late. I almost was just going to wait until next Monday, but figured I’d get it out anyway. Wouldn’t want to disappoint everyone. One would think that having a 4 day weekend, I would have been on top of these things, but since fate would give me a sinus infection right before the holiday weekend, I spent those days trying to cough up a lung! So… now that I’ve survived, let’s get to it! But first, let us congratulate those that sent in the correct answer for last week’s photo, which, by the way, was from Hammer’s Night Creatures (1962). Kudos to the following: Todd Barwick, Dave Fronto, Troy Howarth, Lee Nattrass, Michael Shields, and Vincent Simonelli. Well done!

Okay, so being that I was laid up for the weekend, I did spend a lot of that time in front of the TV so I was able to knock out quite a few movies. This is from one of those. Give it a good look and see what you can come up with. As always, remember not to post your answers here so that others can have a chance at guessing. Just send your guess to us in an email (to jon@kitleyskrypt.com). Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 7-1

Welcome to July! Plenty of sun and high temperatures… which is why I’ll be staying indoors as much as possible until around September/October. Sorry for the delay but the day is not over, so let us get to the photo. Do you like your Mexican monster movies with a little sci-fi action? How about some musical numbers? Or a western setting that is a comedy? Well when you mix those all together, you have our movie from last week, La nave de los monstrous (The Ship of Monsters, 1960). Trust me, there aren’t many out there like this one. Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Bob Hartman, Charles Miller, and Michael Shields. Well done, amigos!

Now on to today’s photo. Make sure you look real good and think because maybe its not what you think it is at first. But take a look and see what you think. Remember, please do not post your answers here so others can have a chance at it. Instead, email them to me at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 6-24

After a much needed mini-vacation at Monster Bash in Mars, PA, we’re back with our weekly Mystery Photo. This one is a real treat. But before we get to that, our photo from last week probably got the most correct answers that I can remember. The film is American Gothic (1987), starring Rod Steiger and Yvonne De Carlo, as well as cult regulars Michael J. Pollard and William Hootkins. Kudos to the following that sent in the correct answers: Hoby Abernathy, Aaron Christensen, Todd Barwick, Jerry Downing, Brian Fukala, Richard Garcia, Christopher Highland, Erick Martin, Gavin Schmitt, James Turner, Kristin Wicks, William Willson, and Greg Wojick. Major Kudos!

So this next flick is going to be a little obscure, but is one of those that if you’ve seen it, I doubt you’ll ever forget it. The quality isn’t that great but take a look and see what you can come up with. As always, please don’t post your answers here so others can have a chance. Just send them to us in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck.

Mystery Photo 6-17

Sorry about the lack of updates this week, but been putting way too many hours in my real job and it is taking it’s toll. Didn’t really have a weekend so almost forgot that today is actually Monday! But at least I did get this photo in before the day is over. Our last photo was from The People Who Own the Dark (1976), starring Alberto de Mendoza, Nadiuksa, and of course, Paul Naschy! While Naschy has only a supporting role, the film is still more than worth your time and has great ending. Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Bob Hartman, Troy Howarth, Lee Nattrass, Gavin Schmitt, and Michael Shields. Well done!

Now on to this week’s photo. Might be pretty easy for those that have seen the movie. Otherwise…might take a little more research. As always, please remember not to post your answers here in the comments, so that others can have a change at guessing. Just send your answer to us in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 6-10

Happy Monday, once again. They just keep coming back, don’t they?

Okay, our photo from last week was from the 1971 film The Devil’s Nightmare, starring the wonderful Erika Blanc. I can remember back in the old VHS days trying to find an uncut copy of this that had the black and white intro, as well as some of the other cut scenes that weren’t in any of the VHS releases here in the states. But now, thanks to Mondo Macabre, we don’t need to worry about that, do we? Anyway, kudos out to Todd Barwick and Michael Shields for sending in the correct answer. Well done, indeed.

This week’s photo is another Euro favorite of mine, so take a peek and see what you can figure out. As always, please remember not to post your answers here so that others can have a chance at guessing. You can send us your guess though email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 6-3

Welcome to our first Mystery Photo of June! That means before too long, we’ll be sweltering in the heat, waiting for winter. Well, at least I will. But let’s enjoy it while we can. Our photo from last week was from a lesser known title from Hammer Films, The Snorkel (1958), a great little thriller that needs some more attention. It did get released on DVD in the Icons of Suspense box set that came out a few years ago, that I would highly recommend. Not only for this film, but also has Cash on Demand (1961) that while it isn’t horror, Peter Cushing and André Morell are amazing to watch. Okay… enough doing Hammer’s PR work… congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Cate Cameron, Craig Clark, Dave Fronto, Troy Howarth, Jennifer Kilzer, Charles Miller and Gavin Schmitt.

Finally, onto this week’s photo. Might be a little tougher but give it a try. As always, remember NOT to post your answers here in the comment section so that others can have a guess. Just send your answer to us in an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 5-27

Wasn’t sure if I was going to make it today, but here it is. After spending the last 4 days in Columbus, eating way too much amazing food, wasn’t sure if I was even going to survive! But we did, and here is your latest Mystery Photo. But first, let us review last week’s photo. Not a familiar one to most it seems because we only got one correct answer sent in, which was from Greg Wojick. Well done, Greg. The movie is called Witching and Bitching (aka Las brujas de Zugarramurdi, 2013), from Spanish filmmaker Álex de la Iglesia. I’ve been a big fan of his work since first feature, Acción mutante (1993) and he never disappoints.

So let’s get to this week’s photo. As usual, PLEASE make sure you do not post your comments here, so that everyone can get a chance at guessing. Instead, just send your guess to us in an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!
