Mystery Photo 11-18

It is so great to see so many responses for a clip from a classic film, that I have to say isn’t the most obvious, but it still is so memorable that we got more responses with this one than we normally do! The shot is from the 1962 almost-lost film, Carnival of Souls. Congrats to these scholars who sent in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Dahlia Daniels, Dave Fronto, Bob Hartman, Ricky Hayden, Christopher Highland, Martin Meeks, Lee Nattrass, Tim Palace, Michael Shields, William Wilson, and Greg Wojick. Well done, people. Well done, indeed.

So here’s this week’s photo, some might consider a classic as well. Let’s see what you think. Take a good look and see what you can come up with. As always, please remember not to post your answers here so that others have a chance at guessing. Just send your guess to us in an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 11-11

Welcome to Monday, once again! While not a lot sent in the correct answer for our last photo, I’m thrilled that some did. And now once I announce the title, I hope everyone seeks it out, because it definitely will be on my Best Of list this year. The film is Errementari: The Blacksmith and the Devil (2017), written and directed by Paul Urkijo Alijo. We stumbled across this earlier this year and since it was produced by Álex de la Iglesia, I knew that was a good enough reason to give it a chance and I wasn’t disappointed. It plays like a fairy tale, not like Disney, but one from Grimms, much darker and just damn cool! Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Aaron Christensen, Lee Nattrass, Kristin Wicks, and Will Wilson. Well done!

So let’s get to this week’s photo! This is another one of those old classics that should never be forgotten, so hopefully it will be easy for everyone. Give it a look and see what you can come up with. As always, please don’t post your answer here so everyone can have a chance at it. Just send it to us in an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Welcome to our first post Halloween Mystery Photo. The difference is… Nothing! Another Monday and another pictorial puzzle! So let’s get to it! Our last photo was from the film Southbound (2015), a really good anthology film that I would urge everyone to check out, if you haven’t already. Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Craig Clark, Dustin Moravich, and Gavin Schmitt. Well done, lads!

So let’s get to this week’s photo. This is another one that I’ve been trying to get people to watch, so this is yet ANOTHER attempt! As always, please do not post your answers here so that others can have a chance at guessing. Just send your guess to us in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Couldn’t think I could let the last Monday before Halloween go without a new photo, do you? Never! But before we get to this new one, let’s go over last week. It’s one of those titles that just upon hearing it makes you want to see it. Well, at least one of the titles it’s known for. The movie in question is Terror Circus, but better known as Barn of the Naked Dead, a title that star Andrew Prine was amazed that someone came up with that! Sure, might not be the greatest film, but I would recommend anything with Prine in it! Kudos to Hoby Abernathy, Ken Johnson, and Gavin Schmitt for sending in the correct answer!

Now on to this week’s photo. I’ll just say it is a newer film and leave it at that. But it is one that if you haven’t seen it, once you know the title, I would highly recommend it. Of course, if you don’t know it, you’ll have to wait a whole week to find out!!! As always, please do not post your answers here so that others can have a chance at guessing. Instead, just send them to us in an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Happy Monday Everyone! We’ve return to the Krypt from our last convention outing this year, the wonderful Monster Bash, which will have a bit more on that a little later. But we are back with our usually Monday brain teaser. Speaking of which, our last photo was from the 1958 flick The Brain Eaters, starring Ed Nelson! If you ask me, its hard to go wrong with these low budget films. They may not be well made, but they are fun. Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Bob Hartman, Dave Fronto, Lee Nattrass, & Michael Shields. Well done!

Now onto this week’s photo. I have methods for my madness, and some of you will pick up on this. So there is your clue! As always, please don’t post your answers here but send them to us in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 10-14

Back online and back again for another fun photo challenge. Because of the Halloween season, we’re going to stick with another classic. Well, maybe one not everyone would call a classic, but that is always debatable. But before we get to that one, let’s go back to our last one. It was from the original Tales from the Crypt (1972) that I feel still holds up today, with the stories as well as the acting! Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Todd Barwick, Dave Fronto, Troy Howarth, Martin Meeks, & William Wilson. Well done!

Okay, back to this week’s photo. Take a good look and see what you can come up with. But don’t strain that brain… wouldn’t want you to hurt yourself before Halloween. As always, don’t post your answers here so others can have a guess. Just send an email to us, at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. It’s that simple! Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 9-30

Just a day away until October starts, where we can truly celebrate the Halloween season. Then again, I’m sure most of us celebrate it all year round! None the less, Happy Monday. Our photo from last week was from the 1968 film Blood Beast Terror, starring Peter Cushing. It just so happens that this film is the next cover feature on the next issue of Little Shoppe of Horrors! Congrats to the following that sent in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Cate Cameron, Dave Fronto, Bob Hartman, Troy Howarth, Lee Nattrass, & William Wilson. Well done.

For this week’s photo, if you don’t get it, I’m sure you’ll wishing to go back in time to send in your guess. Either way, check it out and see what you can come up with. As always, please do not post your answers here so that others can have a chance. Just send your guess in an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 9/23

It’s Monday once again and I was able to have this done early enough to post it this morning! So that must mean the start of a good week, right? Let’s hope so. Our photo from last week was indeed an old one. It was from Doctor X from way back to 1932, starring Lionel Atwill and Fay Wray. If you haven’t seen this little gem, please seek it out and mark it off your list. Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Dave Fronto, Bob Hartman, Troy Howarth, Charles Miller, and Vincent Simonelli. Well done!

So this week’s photo is another classic one, maybe not as old. Maybe. Don’t want to give too many clues! Take a peek and see what comes to mind. As always, please remember not to post your answers here so that others can have a chance at guessing. Just sent your guess to us at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 9-16

Sorry for the late post. I was pretty busy over the weekend fighting back and forth from being sick to heading into Chicago Saturday night to see a couple of great movies. But hopefully I’m on the upswing, at least for a Monday! And speaking of Monday, let us get to our pictorial puzzle for this week. I know we missed it last week, but that was because we were completely worn out from the HorrorHound Weekend right before that. But the last photo we posted was from Álex de la Iglesia’s 1995 film El día de la bestia, or better known in the states as The Day of the Beast. Severin has recently announced they will be releasing this on Blu-ray and I couldn’t recommend this title enough. So much fun. Kudos to Zeit Koloss, Erik Martin, and William Wilson for sending in the correct answer!

Now on to this week’s photo. Going old school here so let’s see who’s been doing their research. As always, please don’t post your answers here so that others can have a chance at guessing. Instead, send your guess to us at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo

Sure, this may be Labor Day and most people are not working today, but not here at the Krypt! Every day is a work day and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Before we get to our first photo of September, let’s review last week’s photo. It was from the 1979 eco-horror film Prophecy. Anybody who saw the trailer for this film, where a kid in a sleeping bag gets hit and bursts into feathers, well, you don’t forget things like that, especially if you were young when you first seen it. Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answers: Aaron Christensen, Dave Fronto, Lee Nattrass, and Will Wilson.

Now on to this week’s photo. Take a look at this poor chap before he possibly takes a dive into the streets below and see if you can recognize him or the film that it is from. As always, please remember not to post your answers here so others can have a chance at guessing. Just send your guess to us in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. And Good Luck!
