Those in charge have been sacked, and a completely new staff has been hired and beaten into submission to make sure it is not missed again. Welcome to not being Summer anymore! Sure, it’s not official fall yet, but we all know that once August is over, it is definitely Halloween season! The time us horror fans seem almost normal for a couple of months! So, let’s get started! Our photo from last week was a tricky one, I don’t believe it had gotten any sort of video or DVD release over here in the states. The title is Orlak, el infierno de Frankenstein (1960), but was also known simply as The Hell of Frankenstein. It’s one of those many horror films from Mexico made in the late ’50s and early ’60s, that are more than worth checking out. Maybe we’ll see it in the next Mexican Horrors box set??? I know, the day is almost over and I’m just getting this posted. After being at HorrorHound all weekend and coming back to plenty of things to get caught up, this post being one of them, I’m amazed I haven’t collapsed yet! But here it is! It is from Russell Mulcahy’s 1998 film Tale of the Mummy, aka Talos the Mummy, which featured an all-star cast, including Sir Christopher Lee in a small role in the beginning, as well as Sean Pertwee, Jason Scott Lee, Honor Blackman, Shelley Duvall, Jon Polito, Michael Lerner, and even Gerard Butler! Not sure if this ever got a DVD release, at least not in its uncut version, but it is an interesting take on the mummy genre. Halfway through August already, that means that Halloween is just around the corner! You know, when us horror fans can seem somewhat normal for a short time. Wow. Two weeks in a row with not one correct answer sent in. Am I making these too hard? Our last photo was from the 2007 film Storm Warning, directed by Jamie Blanks of Urban Legend (1998) fame. Little on the torture porn side, but actually a decent movie that will have a few men cringing a little, especially when you get to the part of what the lady is holding in the photo!

It seems no one out there recognized our last photo, not even a guess or two. Even more surprising since it came from George Romero! Sadly, no zombies in this one, so maybe that’s why. But it was from his 1972 film, Season of the Witch. Sure, it’s not like most of his horror stuff, but I think it is still a pretty good movie and well worth seeing.

Yeah, we missed getting a photo up last week. Had a lot of things going on, including getting ready a little surgery. Almost made it to my 6th decade on this planet without having any surgery but didn’t quite make it. Welcome to our first photo for July!
