It seems no one out there recognized our last photo, not even a guess or two. Even more surprising since it came from George Romero! Sadly, no zombies in this one, so maybe that’s why. But it was from his 1972 film, Season of the Witch. Sure, it’s not like most of his horror stuff, but I think it is still a pretty good movie and well worth seeing.

This week’s photo isn’t from Romero but might be a pretty tough nut to crack as well. Give it a peek and see if you can recognize where this shot is from. Just remember to send your guess to me in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Yeah, we missed getting a photo up last week. Had a lot of things going on, including getting ready a little surgery. Almost made it to my 6th decade on this planet without having any surgery but didn’t quite make it. So, things have been a little slow around the Krypt this last week, but we’re on the mend should be back up to full speed shortly. But let us get to the real reason you’re here, right? Our last photo was from one of my favorites, Shock Waves (1977). Was just listening to the newly expanded soundtrack and thought it would be a great shot for the Mystery Photo. So, kudos out to Hoby Abernathy, Peggie Christie, and Dave Fronto for sending in the correct answer! Well done!

That leads us to this week’s photo. See if you can spot where this shot is from! Remember to send your guess to me in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com, which helps me not forget who answered! Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 7-3

Welcome to our first photo for July! I was thrilled to not only see the amount of correct answers sent in for our last photo, but the love given to the film, which happens to be a personal favorite of mine! The film is Horror Rises from the Tomb starring the one and only Paul Naschy. This year is the 50th anniversary of it too! Hard to believe. But congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Aaron Christensen, Dave Fronto, Bob Hartman, Erik Martin, Mike Pniewski, Bryan Senn, Alan Tromp, William Wilson, and Greg Wojick. For those who didn’t know it or haven’t seen it, please seek it out!

Our next photo is from a film everyone should know, but maybe you won’t recognize this shot. That is my goal, after all! Take a look at it and see if you know what movie it is from. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 6-29

A little last in the day, but it is still Monday. At least, I know it sure still feels like a Monday! Our photo from last week was from a sequel, Night of the Demons 2 (1994), once again showing the evils of having parties while in high school! Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Dada Debaser, Kevin Hart, Ryan Olson, and William Wilson. Well done, indeed!

Okay, so this one might be pretty easy, or maybe it will be enough to think you know it but can’t seem to pull the title out of your head. Either way, it is fun one to ponder. Take a peek and see what you think! Then send your guess to me in an email, at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 6-19

Since our photo from last week was a little obscure, getting only one correct answer sent in, I hope that everyone seeks this film out because it is more than worth your time! The film is The Nightshifter (2018), a Brazilian film that is pretty original and damn creepy. Kudos to Hoby Abernathy for sending in the correct guess.

Our photo from this week might be a little easier, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Take a peek below and see if you can recognize where this little beastie is from. Just remember to send your guess to me in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 6-12

I think there might be a lot of readers out there that are not going to be so happy they missed this last photo. It’s not an strange foreign title lost obscurity, but actually one of the best adaptations of a Stephen King novel (in my opinion). The film is The Dead Zone (1983), directed by David Cronenberg. I had recently rewatched it since it had been a while and was reminded just how good it really is. Also, it was great seeing all the different Cronenberg actors with little cameos here and there. Congrats to the following that sent in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Mike Shields, and William Wilson.

Let us see what we can get with this week’s photo. A real good one, this one is! Take a peek and see what you can come up with. Just remember to send your answer to me in an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 6-5

Welcome to the first Monday of June. For most of us, that just means the Halloween season is just 4 months away. So as we avoid the sun and heat (okay, maybe that’s just me), before we know it, the leaves will turn and fall, the temps will drop (hopefully) and it will be Halloween before we know it. Got to focus on something positive, right? Speaking of positive, let’s get to last week’s photo and all the correct answers we got. The shot is from the film Targets (1968) from director Peter Bogdanovich. Very unsettling, with its feet both in the terrors in the reel world and the real world. Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Scott Bradley, Dave Fronto, Kevin Hart, Christopher Highland, Troy Howarth, Bryan Senn, William Wilson. Well done!

For this week’s photo, I decided to go with a favorite of mine. But I decided to go with a shot that might be a little obscure. I guess we’ll just see how good you are out there! Just remember, send your guess to me in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!
