Mystery Photo 6-22-15

It’s Mystery Photo Monday folks! Not going to forget this time. Our last photo was our little tribute to Richard Johnson who we recently lost. The movie is from The Haunting. Not going to say the “original” because as far as I’m concerned it is the only version ever made. Congrats to the following who sent in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Gregory Avery, Cate Cameron, Gavin Schmitt, & Scott Stephens. Well done.

Now our new photo is another black and white film, but probably isn’t on the same classic level as The Haunting. No…not even close. But that doesn’t mean they’re not still entertaining, right? So here is our latest photo. Take a look and see what you can come up with.

Another Monday, another Mystery Photo. Our pic from last week was from Paul Naschy’s La Venganza de la Momia aka The Mummy’s Revenge. Nothing like squeezing the head like a melon, right? Kudos to Elena Anele and Mike Tutino for sending in the correct answer.

Now on to this week’s photo. Sure…might just be a picture of a wall. Or maybe it is something else? Who knows…if you stare at it long enough…you just might see something. Or not.

Anyway…take a look and then send me an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com with your guest. Good luck.

Mystery Photo 6-9

Looks like we missed posting this again yesterday, once again. Think I might need to get a secretary or something! Our last photo was from the recently (and highly recommended) released From a Whisper to a Scream, directed by Jeff Burr, who I have to say is one of the nicest guys one could meet. Anyway, this shot is from the twisted little segment with Clu Gulager and his demon baby. Fun stuff there, folks! Kudos out to the following that sent in the correct answer: Aaron Christensen, Mark Turner, and Will Wilson.

Now on to this week’s photo. This might be a little tougher…but then again, that’s part of the fun, isn’t it? Now a title might jump into your brain but we’ll tell you right now, it is not one with that guy in a hockey mask. But hopefully you’ll be able to figure it out without your head ending up like this poor fellow!

Just send us your answer to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good luck.

Seems like we stumped everyone once again with our photo. Sure, it might be an obscure title, but it does star Christopher Lee. The film is Crypt of the Vampire (1964) and while not one of the better examples of Euro-horror, it’s not terrible. It does have a great score!

So for this week’s photo, let’s try something a little more current, shall we? I think we’ll get a few answers with this one. Take a peek and see what you can come up with. Just send us an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good luck.

Mystery Photo 5-25

It seems I completely forgot about getting a new photo up last week. Must have been one muther of a Monday! But today we’re back with a new photo. But first, let’s review our last one. It seems we stumped everyone with that last one, not getting a single correct answer. But it was a tough one. The shot was from the 1986 film The Supernaturals, about some ghosts from the Civil War coming back for blood. Not a great movie, but not terrible either. Plus you get to see a few familiar faces in there too.

But anyway, let’s get to this week’s photo. Though, I have to say, this one might not be any easier. But then again, that is the whole idea, right? I just thought it was a pretty cool looking shot and needed to be shared. So give a peek and see what you can come up with. Just send me an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good luck!

Mystery Photo 5-11

Monday once again, so that means a new Mystery Photo. Our last one was from the highly underrated film Beyond the Door. While a lot of people consider this a rip-off of The Exorcist, I say that it is different enough to definitely stand on its own, and is well worth the watch. Kudos to Humberto Amador and Mark Turner for sending in the correct answer. This scene in particular is a great non-digital effect that I’ve always found highly effective.

On to this week’s photo. I think this one is going to be a tough one, so you’ll need to use some super powers to dig this one up from the grave. Take a look and see what you can come up with. Just send us an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com with your guess. Good luck!

Mystery Photo 5-5

Sorry folks…had every intention of getting this up yesterday but the time just slipped away. But no worries…here we are with this week’s Mystery Photo. Our photo from last week was from Jason X. I figured with a close up like that it might be a little harder to recognize it, and apparently it worked since I only got two people with the correct answer. They would be Hoby Abernathy and Aaron Christensen. And before you might snicker at the movie, if you haven’t seen it, you might want to. Pretty damn entertaining and one of my favorites of the series.

Anyway, let’s get to this week’s photo. Might be easy…might not. But don’t look too hard for too long or your eyes might end up like the woman’s in the photo! Just send your answer to jon@kitleyskrypt.com

Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 4-27

Happy Monday Everyone! And if it’s Monday, that must mean a new Mystery Photo! But before we get to this weeks, let’s reveal what last week’s photo was. As much quite a few thought it was Blood from Satan’s Claw, it was not. But I can totally see where that guess would come in. And since we got more emails with that answer than the correct one, don’t feel bad if you were one of them. But the correct answer is another British film, Curse of the Werewolf. The ones that did send in the correct answers were: Hoby Abernathy, Aaron Christensen, Doc Phibes, and Gavin Schmitt. So congrats to all of you.

And now on to this week’s photo. Might be easy. Might be hard. We’ll let you decide that. Take a peek, think a bit, and then send in your answer to us at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good luck!

Mystery Photo 4-20

Ok folks, I knew this last one was going to be a toughy but like a lot of the photos that I use, I wanted to draw some attention to the film, some more than others. And this last one was a perfect example. So don’t feel bad if you didn’t know it. Trust me, it’s a tough one. But make sure you remember the name, because if you ever come across a copy of it or the chance to see it, you’re going to want to. The shot was from a made-for-TV movie back in 1973 called A Cold Night’s Death, which starred pretty much just Robert Culp and Eli Wallach, and a few monkeys. Granted, I’m a sucker for made-for-TV movies of this era, but I would highly recommend this one. Kudos to Aaron Christensen and Will Wilson for sending in the correct answer.

So…after that last one, I figured I’d go with one that might be a little bit easier….maybe. Take a look and see what you think. Just drop us an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com with your answer.

Mystery Photo 4-13

Happy Monday Everyone! Of course, it was one for me since I was off today, trying to recouporate from Cinema Wasteland! But let’s get to today’s business, shall we? Our pic from last week was from the 1955 film The Creature with the Atom Brain, a fun little sci-fi/horror flick about some man-made remote controled robots, given to us by producer Sam Katzman. Kudos goes out to the following who correctly identified the photo: Hoby Abernathy, Matt Dean, Jennifer Kilzer, Gavin Schmitt, and Alan Tromp.

Now as for this week’s photo, well…it’s going to be a tough one. I’m telling you that up front. But let’s just see who might know this little lost classic of a movie. When we announce the title next week, you’re going to want to add this to your “need to find” list of movies. Good luck.

Remember, please don’t post your answer here in the comments, but send me an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com.
