On Saturday, September 9th, at the Skyline Drive-in in Shelbyville, IN, Severin Films is inviting you to their sleepover! They will be screening 5 features that they have released but now giving you the chance to see them on the big screen! And trust me, having the opportunity to see these particular titles on the big screen is a pretty big deal!
They will be screening the following films:
Dracula vs Frankenstein (1971) – Al Adamson’s ultimate monster rally, starring Lon Chaney Jr., J. Carol Naish, Anthony Eisley, Regina Carol, Russ Tamblyn, Jim Davis, Angelo Rossitto, and John Bloom! Zandor Vorkov, who plays Dracula, will be attending this event, signing autographs and taking photos with the fans.
Horrors of Spider Island (1960) – While IMDB may rate this as only 2.6, I actually think its a pretty damn entertaining film and a LOT of fun. When a plane crashes on a remote island, the survivors have to deal with not only the spiders, but the ones that get bit by them and turn into something even more horrifying!
The Five Days (1973) – Dario Argeno’s one and only comedy/drama film, made between Four Flies on Grey Velvet (1971) and Deep Red (1975). Very different kind of film, but a rare chance to see it on the big screen.
Night of the Demon (1980) – One of THE best Bigfoot movies ever made! Or maybe I should say, one of the most ENTERTAINING Bigfoot movies ever made! There is nothing like this one, folks, and to be able to see it on the big screen, especially at a drive-in, is just the perfect experience for cult movie fans.
Vampyros Lesbos (1971) – For those that think all of Jesús Franco’s films are low budget trash, then I invite you to watch this film. Heavy on the artistic side more than horror, but it really shows just how talented of a filmmaker Franco was, and how he could create these other worlds with such strange and interesting characters. This one stars his muse at the time, Soledad Miranda, made shortly before her untimely death, as well as Dennis Price, Paul Muller, and Ewa Strömberg.
Besides Zandor Vorkov appearing, there will be other guests as well. Author Brad Carter, who has written the novelizations of Cruel Jaws, Night of the Demon, and Mardi Gras Massacre for Severin, will also be there. There will also be artists Chris Conant and Ed there selling their work. Plus a few dealers selling merch to tempt even more money from your wallet!
Doors open at 5pm, so come on out and have some fun! Camping is free for the night, so what more could you ask for! For all the details, head over the Facebook Events page by clicking HERE.
