Super Monster Movie Fest Next Weekend!

Just in case you might be late to the party, next weekend, Aug. 27th & 28th, at the Skyline Drive-in, they are holding their 10th annual Super Monster Movie Fest, with the theme this year of The Devil Made Us Do It, featuring 10 films dealing all things with the devil! We’ve been coming out to this event pretty much every year since 2012, and once again, we’re excited as hell to head out there next weekend as well!

Here is the final lineup and times for this year’s features:

Friday August 27th

  • 8:15pm Sammy Terry on stage
  • 9pm – The Black Cat (1934) featuring Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi
  • 10:15pm – Sammy Terry on stage
  • 11pm – John Carpenter’s Prince of Darkness (1987)
  • 1am – Roman Polanski’s Rosemary’s Baby (1968)
  • 3:30am – The Sentinel (1977)
  • 5am – Blood on Satan’s Claw (1971)

Saturday August 28th

  • 8:15pm Sammy Terry on stage
  • 9pm – Jacques Tourneur’s Curse of the Demon (1957)
  • 10:30pm Sammy Terry on stage
  • 11:15pm – Mario Bava’s Black Sunday (1960)
  • 1am – The Exorcist (1973)
  • 3:15am – Evilspeak (1981) Starring CLINT HOWARD!!!
  • 5am Greydon Clark’s Satan’s Cheerleaders (1977)

As usual, there will be vendors set up there as well, such as Recently Deceased Art, Buchanan’s Toys, Man Cave Comics & Collectibles, Cinema Apocalypse, and a few more. So bring a little extra cash because you never know what you might come across there!

Also, a good friend of the Krypt, Scott Bradley, host of the one of the best podcasts out there, Hellbent for Horror, will be selling copies of his book, Screaming for Pleasure: How Horror Makes You Happy and Healthy. I can’t recommend it enough. It’s a fun read, as well as very smart.

While we are not vending there, there is a small chance I will have a few copies of my own book, Discover the Horror on me, so if you’re interested, just stop me and ask!

PLUS … if you’re going to be in the area all weekend, they are having a special Saturday matinee screening of Hammer’s The Devil Rides Out (1968) starring Christopher Lee, at the Strand Theatre in Shelbyville, along with a horror trivia contest. The event starts at 2pm and is $7 to attend. BUT … if you get your advance online ticket for the Super Monster Movie Fest (just click HERE), you can get into this event for free!
