We made it to March! Need to celebrate those accomplishments, no matter how small, right? And with our first Monday of March, that means a new photo! But first, our photo from last week was from the The Seventh Curse (1986), one of those Hong Kong horror films that blew my mind when I first saw it. Not just the gore, but the bat-shit crazy story was like nothing I’d seen before, make it one of my favorites from that era. Welcome to our last Mystery Photo for February. Amazed that this month went so fast. Our last photo was that of Captain Picard himself, Patrick Stuart, but a couple of years before he took off on the Enterprise. The shot is from Tobe Hooper’s Lifeforce (1985) and is one crazy movie but highly memorable. Welcome to Monday and halfway through February! That just means we’re closer to when convention season starts for us, and we are really looking forward to getting back out on the road! Our photo from last week was from Satsuo Yamamoto’s 1968 ghost story Botan-dôrô aka The Bride from Hades, also known as Peony Lantern. It was recently released on the Daiei Gothic box set, which I would highly recommend picking up. Only got two correct answers sent in on this one, Hoby Abernathy and Erik Martin. Great job, guys! Definitely not a title seen by a lot, but we’ll worth checking out.

Before I forget and get it wrong, last week’s photo was from the highly underrated 1972 TV-Movie The Stone Tape, directed by Peter Sasdy and starring Michael Bryant and Jane Asher. It was written by Nigel Kneale, who is no stranger to British teleplays, writing a ton of original and effective sci-fi and horror work that was brought to life for the viewers at home. Once again, he gives us a slow-paced but highly creepy story here. Can you believe we’re almost done with January already? Time just flies when you’re having fun. Right? Here’s to surviving that first week of December. While here in the Midwest, the temps finally started to drop down in the teens, which mean moving up from just a hoodie to an actual jacket. At least for those real cold days. I mean, why bust out the heavy coats until at least the snow hits, right? Anyway, we only got a few correct answers for our last Mystery Photo.
