Mystery Photo 2-1

Welcome to February! And since it is Monday, that means a new Mystery Photo. But before we get to the new one, let’s go over last week’s. It actually was an easier title, but I used a shot that I thought wouldn’t be recognized too easily. And it looks like I was right. The shot is from the opening of John Hough’s The Legend of Hell House, one of my favorite haunted house movies out there! Only got one correct answer sent in and that was from Hoby Abernathy. Pretty tough to sneak one by him, apparently! But major kudos to you none the less!

Okay…this week’s photo is a nice little close up of a man who might just have a little bit of a skin problem. Take a peek and see if you recogninze this guy and the movie he is from. Good luck!

And as always, please don’t post your answers here, but send us an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com

Mystery Photo 1-25

Welcome to Monday! So that must me a new Mystery Photo, right? But before we get to the new one, let’s go over last week’s, where we traveled to Italy for a little giallo action. The shot was from the Luciano Ercoli’s 1971 film Death Walks on High Heels. A very entertaining little film if you haven’t seen it. Kudos goes out to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Scott Bradley, Kuba Haczek, and Bryan Martinez!

So on to the new one. This should be an easier one, but maybe it might take a little thinking to get it. Maybe. But take a peek and see what you can come up with. Good luck.

And as always, please don’t post your answer here, but send us an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Let us give everyone a try, shall we?

Mystery Photo 1-11

Last week’s photo was from the amazing underrated film Blood on Satan’s Claw (1971), a British classic that more should seek out. Kudos to the following who sent in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Scott Bradley, Cate Cameron, Kuba Haczek, Bill Harrison, Billy Nocera, and Michael Shields. Well done, people!

Okay….this one just might be a little tough. I know I’ve said that many times before, but I think I might stump everyone on this one. Sounds like a challenge, doesn’t it? I will give you a little hint…this wasn’t taken from any multi-million dollar budget film from Hollywood. But you might have figured that out from the quality of the image. None the less…good luck. You’ll need it on this one.

Please remember not to post your answer here, but send me an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com.

Mystery Photo 12-27

Since this will be our last Mystery Photo for 2015, I figured we’d make it a good one. You know…something to end the year on a bang! But before we get to the new one, lets review last week’s photo. It was of course, from the film Rare Exports, which is one of the best Christmas horror movies around. Congrats out to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Cate Cameron, Robert Slendorn, Wayne Teeter, Coye Vega, AJ Wager, Matt Wedge, Kristin Wicks, and Greg Wojick. Well done!

Okay…enough of the celebrating…let us get down to business. Take a good look at this week’s photo and see what you can come up with. Might be a bit tough….or not. Good luck, either way.

And please remember not to post your answers here but send us an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. We want to give everyone else a chance too.

Mystery Photo 12-20

Welcome to Monday, once again. And if it’s Monday, that means another Mystery Photo! Our last photo was from the 1966 Amicus thriller The Psychopath, directed by Freddie Francis. Really wish this film would get a nice cleaned up DVD release. Not even sure if this even got a VHS release here in the states….? Anyway, congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Elena Anele, Cate Cameron, and Michael Shields. Well done!

Okay…since we’re only a few days away from the holiday, I thought it would be appropriate to post a film that could have something to do with it. I did say “something”, mind you. But take a good look and see if you can guess which film this shot is from. Good Luck!

And remember, please do not post your answer here, but send me an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com.

Mystery Photo 12-14

Welcome to Monday, kiddies! Hopefully the worst part of today is over and you have time to relax in front of the TV watching a classic horror flick. Damn…I just might have to do that now!

Anyway, our photo from last week was of the lovely Adrienne Corri in the 1974 film Madhouse, which also happened to star Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, and Robert Quarry.  Not a great film, but pretty fun to watch. Kudos goes out to the following for sending in the correct answer: Cate Cameron, Doug Lamoreux, Michael Shields, and Kristin Wicks. Well done!

So here is this week’s little photo for your ocular evaluation. Give it a peek and see what you think! As always, please don’t post your answer here, but send me an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good luck.

Mystery Photo 12-7

If you didn’t get our last photo, or even have a clue, don’t feel bad. It seems we stumped most of you with that one. Which really is a good thing since it means that a lot of you just might have another movie to add to your “must see” list. The film is the 1972 Italian film Night of the Devils (aka La notte dei diavoli). It is a take off of the Wurdulak tale, like in Mario Bava’s Black Sabbath, and is one that I think is worth seeking out. Plus, it has a great score by Giorgio Gaslini!

We only had three correct answers sent in, which I have to give extra kudos to since this was a tough one. So a high praise goes out to Chris Kuchta, Mike Tutino, and Tom White. Well done, indeed!

So here is this week’s photo, which might be a bit more familiar than our last one. But can you remember which title it is from???

Remember, please don’t post your answer here, but send me an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good luck!

Mystery Photo 11-30

Our photo from last week was from the made-for-TV movie called Gargoyles, which is a great little film that I think still holds up. With some really fun makeup work from Stan Winston, it is a special film from my childhood. We did get a few that sent in the correct answer. They were: Hoby Abernathy, PJ Ames, Scott Bradley, Doug Lamoreux, Gregg Olheiser, Michale Shields, and Mark Turner. Well done.

So this one might be a little tougher. Seems like I always say that, doesn’t it? Well then take a look and see if you recognize this shot. I do think it is  a film that more people should seek out. Remember, please don’t post your answer here, but send me an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. We wouldn’t want to spoil the game for anyone else. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 11-23

It’s Monday, so that has to mean a new Mystery Photo, right? At least this should be ONE good thing to look forward for a Monday. At least I hope it is! Our last pic was from the Hammer thriller Nightmare. Don’t hear too much about this one for some reason, but it is a good one and worth checking out. In fact, I would recommend most of the black and white thrillers that Hammer made in the 60s, especially titles like Scream of Fear and Paranoiac. Kudos out to the following who sent in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Doug Lamoreux, Michael Shields, Adam Rockoff. Well done!

So….this week’s photo is not black and white, but a nice color one that I thought was a great looking shot. Well done to the DP for this one! But take a look and see what you think. Just send us an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com with your guess. Remember…Please don’t post your answer here, so everyone can have a guess. Good luck.

Mystery Photo 11-9

I knew our last one was going to be a tough one, but that didn’t stop a few from sending in the correct answer. The shot was from the 1959 film The Four Skulls of Jonathan Drake. Now with a title like that, doesn’t it make you want to see it? While the movie might not live up to that awesome title, I still think it is a great little film and worth seeing. Kudos to Hoby Abernathy, Doug Lamoreux, and Gavin Schmitt for sending in the correct title. Well done, Gents!

For this week’s photo, we’re going with another black and white film, and another one that probably doesn’t get the attention it deserves. Nothing scary in this picture, unless you start to imagine what might be behind those doors!!! Please remember not to post your answer here, but send us an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good luck!
