I loved the fact that just about everyone that sent in the correct answer, apparently all wanted to be in charge of the booze as well! I guess that might show just how much some of us remember a film like this so well! The movie is, of course, THEM! from 1954, which I think is still one of the best giant bug movies out there, not to mention the first. A classic for many reasons, and one that still holds up today. Another week, another Monday, another Mystery Photo. One might think it could be a little tedious and repetitive, but I like to think that this little post could be a slight second of a break from an otherwise possibly typical “Monday”. Honestly, with any of our posts, if can take you out of reality for a quick second, then I know what I’m doing is worth it. Last week’s photo was from Francis Ford Coppola’s early effort from 1963, Dementia 13. While it’s mainly known for that brutal murder, the rest of the film is quite good as well. I was delighted to see all the correct answers from last week’s photo. This is a title that you don’t hear about too often but is such a great little flick. It is from The Flesh Eaters (1964). While some of the effects might look a little crude by today’s standards, I still think they are pretty cool. Welcome to June!!! While some of you are excited about the incoming summer months, I am, of course, counting the days to fall, when the temps drop and we get closer to the Halloween season! Then again, we all know that every day is Halloween, right? I know it is here in the Krypt. Anyway, enough rambling. Let’s get down to business. The photo was from the 1976 film The Devil’s Men aka Land of the Minotaur, starring not only Cushing, but Donald Pleasence as well. I apologize for the lack of updates this last week, but we were getting ready for the Columbus Moving Picture Show that took place over the weekend. Being a 4-day show, it took a lot of our time away from the real world, which was actually kind of a nice break! But we’re back! Our last photo was a little tougher it seems, with only 3 correct answers being sent in. The film was The Curse (1987), one of the strange adaptations of the H.P. Our last photo was from the 1969 film Malenka the Vampire, better known here in the US as Fangs of the Living Dead! This was one of the titles in the famous triple feature Orgy of the Living Dead, which also featured Revenge of the Living Dead aka Kill, Baby… Kill! (1966), and Curse of the Living Dead aka Murder Clinic (1966). We only got two correct answers sent in, from Bob Hartman & Erik Martin. Well done!
