Mystery Photo 3-28

I didn’t forget this time out! Hopefully everyone enjoyed their weekend, especially if you were lucky to have Friday off! But now that we’re back to the work week, let’s get back to business and get this started, shall we?

Last week’s photo was from Amando de Ossorio’s Night of the Sorcerers! Released in 1974, this has one of the most strangest and bizarre openings that you’ll see. Starring the lovely Loreta Tovar and Jack Taylor, if you’re a fan of Euro-Horror, then you’ll probably will enjoy this one! Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Elena Anele, Troy Howarth, Doug Lamoreux, Bryan Moose, Richard Schellbach, Michael Shields, Kristin Wicks, and William Wilson. Nice to see this many names for a cult title like this one.

For this week’s photo, we’re moving back into our own country (see…and they say I never give any hints!) to see if you can identify this recently discovered title. Take a good look and see what you can come up with. And don’t worry which title you might know it under, we’ll accept them all. See…yet ANOTHER hint! As usual, please do not post your answer here, but send an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Sorry about being a day late with this one, but we didn’t get back from the HorrorHound weekend trip until late. But better late than never, right?

Last week’s photo was from one of my favorites, Timur Bekmambetov’s Night Watch. It has some of the most amazing visuals in here, plus a great and original take on some old familiar themes. Check it out, along with the sequel Day Watch, if you haven’t seen them. But kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Neil Calderone, Kuba Haczek, and Richard Schellbach. Well done!

Okay…without any further delay, here’s this week’s photo. Remember not to post your answers here, but send us an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com.

Mystery Photo 3-14

Yes, it is that time again. Monday. At least you have this new photo to look forward to at the beginning of the week, right?

Last week’s photo was a classic…well, maybe not a classic, but if you have a movie about a killer tree, that swallows woment whole, there’s something to be said for that! The movie is The Woman Eater (1958) starring George Coulouris. Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Doug Lamoreux, Michael Shields, and Alan Tromp. Well done!

Now this week’s photo might be a little easier, but it is one that I just love the image from so I figured I’d throw it into the mix. Take a peek, but don’t stare too long or what is happening in the photo might happen to you!

As always, please don’t post your answers here, but send us an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good luck!

I have to say that it gives my heart a little joy when I see people recognizing a somewhat obscure Spanish horror flick. Sure, it might have helped that it recently was released on blu-ray, but that’s beside the point. The film from last week is León Klimovsky’s Vampire’s Night Orgy! I’ve always considered this kind of like a Paul Naschy flick…without Paul Naschy! But it is still a fun little film. Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Aaron Christensen, Troy Howarth, Michael Shields, Mike Tutino, William Wilson.

Okay, now on to this week’s photo. Going with another black and white classic. Well…maybe not classic….but one that if you’ve seen it, you probably won’t forget it. Take a look, but don’t get too close or you might end up like the person in the photo! And remember, please don’t post your answers here, but send me an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 2-29

Welcome to Monday! And that of course means another Mystery Photo. I’m hoping that it at least gives you one good thing about this day to look forward to. I knew our last photo was going to be a tough one and it seems I was right. The shot was from a Mexican horror film that came out in 1959 called Misterios de Ultratumba, or The Black Pit of Dr. M. This little feature has more style and atmospher than you can stake a stick at. Well worth checking out….though, I think that I say that about most of these movies….Anyway, kudos out to Hoby Abernathy and Alan Tromp for sending in the correct answer. Well done!

So let’s get to our latest photo. Might be a little dark but as you can see in the photo, there is a reason for that. Take a peak and see what you can come up with. As always, please do not post your answers here, but send us an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com.

Mystery Photo 2-22

Welcome to Monday! At least this time, I remembered what day it was. Then again, after the weekend I had, I’m actually surprised. Anyway, our shot from last week was from a favorite of mine, Man Made Monster (1941), starring Lon Chaney Jr. and Lionel Atwill. My first issue of Famous Monsters that I bought as a kid had an article on this and I’ve always remembered the film because of it. Funny how the mind works, isn’t it? But kudos goest out to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Doug Lamoreux, Mike Shields, and Troy Howarth. Well done.

For our latest photo, we’re going to stay in the black and white era, but it is slightly different. But I’ll warn you…it’s going to be a tough one. So take a look and see what you can…dig up? Sorry…too early, I know.

Please remember not to post your answers here, but send me an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com.

Mystery Photo 2-15

Since I had to work yesterday, when I got up this morning, I had no concept of what day it was, which is why this wasn’t posted first thing this morning. Or at least, that is the excuse I’m using. But none the less, it is still Monday, so we have new pic. But of course, before we get to it, let’s go over last week’s photo. It was from the 1971 film The Nightcomers, which was a disurbing prequel to the famous Henry James’ novel, Turn of the Screw. We only got one correct answer sent in, and that was from Hoby Abernathy. Well done, sir!

Okay, let’s get to this week’s photo. Might be a little easier…might be.

Please remember not to post your answers here, but send us an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 2-8

Monday, Monday…while most don’t look forward to the start of the week, at least you have a brand new Mystery Photo to look at, right? So there’s at least one positive thing! But before we get to this week’s photo, let’s cover our last one. It is from the mastermind filmmaker of Jess Franco, in his 1964 film Dr. Orloff’s Monster, also known as The Mistresses of Dr. Jekyll, which is another one of Franco’s early black and white films that is pretty damn good. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. Kudos out to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Mike Shields, and David H. Smith. Well done!

Okay, lets get to our latest little mystery pic. An oldie but a goodie…and even in color, no less! So take a glance at these two youngsters and see if you can recognize the movie they are from. Good luck!

And as always, please don’t post your answers here, but send us an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com.

Mystery Photo 2-1

Welcome to February! And since it is Monday, that means a new Mystery Photo. But before we get to the new one, let’s go over last week’s. It actually was an easier title, but I used a shot that I thought wouldn’t be recognized too easily. And it looks like I was right. The shot is from the opening of John Hough’s The Legend of Hell House, one of my favorite haunted house movies out there! Only got one correct answer sent in and that was from Hoby Abernathy. Pretty tough to sneak one by him, apparently! But major kudos to you none the less!

Okay…this week’s photo is a nice little close up of a man who might just have a little bit of a skin problem. Take a peek and see if you recogninze this guy and the movie he is from. Good luck!

And as always, please don’t post your answers here, but send us an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com

Mystery Photo 1-25

Welcome to Monday! So that must me a new Mystery Photo, right? But before we get to the new one, let’s go over last week’s, where we traveled to Italy for a little giallo action. The shot was from the Luciano Ercoli’s 1971 film Death Walks on High Heels. A very entertaining little film if you haven’t seen it. Kudos goes out to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Scott Bradley, Kuba Haczek, and Bryan Martinez!

So on to the new one. This should be an easier one, but maybe it might take a little thinking to get it. Maybe. But take a peek and see what you can come up with. Good luck.

And as always, please don’t post your answer here, but send us an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Let us give everyone a try, shall we?
