Mystery Photo 12-26

So while this recent holiday might have been the cause of the lack of updates we’ve had (or not had) lately, that doesn’t mean I’m going to forget a Mystery Photo Day! But before we get to this week’s, let’s cover the photo from last week. It was from the Steven Spielberg’s made-for-TV movie Duel. The ones that sent in the correct answers were: Hoby Abernathy, Cate Cameron, and Doug Lamoreux. Well done!

Now on to this week’s photo. This poor chap was one of those that must have said the wrong thing to the wrong person to end up in this situation! So see if you can’t recognize where this is from.

Please remember not to post your answers here, so others can give it a try. Just send us an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com.

Hello Monday! Yeah…I’m feeling the same way. But that is not going to stop us from having another Mystery Photo Monday, is it? I know our updates have not been as plentiful these last couple of weeks, but we’ve been a little busy around the Krypt here getting ready for the holidays. But have no fear, we’re still here!

Our last photo was from the hilariously twisted 2006 British film Severance from Christopher Smith. Such a demented little flick, huh? Pie, anyone? Kudos out to the following that did send in the correct guess: Hoby Abernathy, Doug Lamoreux, Lee Marohn, Kevin Matthews, Dustin Moravich, Gregg Olheiser. Well done!

Now to this week’s pictorial challenge. I tried to use a shot that shouldn’t be as easy to recognize. Wait…does that mean I’m using an easy movie title? Could be. Or maybe I’m just making you think it is, while in reality it is from some obscure little flick that few have heard of. Now would I do something like that? Anyway…give a look and then send in a guess.

Please remember not to post your answers here, but send them to us in an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com.

And good luck!

It seems our last photo was a bit tougher than what we’ve been giving you, since we only got one correct answer sent in, which was from Hoby Abernathy. So kudos to him for recognizing this pic from the 1967 film Dracula in Pakistan, or also known as The Living Corpse. This is a real treat for fans of unusual films, especially versions of the Dracula story. And yes, it does include dancing. Mondo Macabro put this out on DVD a few years ago so if you can still find a copy, I’d highly recommend it to those who like strange cinema.

So let’s get to this week’s photo. As much as I was tempted to go with some snow-covered shot, I thought I’d forgo that and keep it simple. Well, try to at least. Here’s this week’s mystery pic, so take a gander and see what pops into your head.

Mystery Photo 12-5

Our first Monday in December. Hopefully these next four weeks are a fast one and we can start 2017 afresh! But in the meantime, lets get down to business. Our photo from last week was from one of few times Boris Karloff appeared as a scientist/doctor bringing someone back from the dead. Okay…maybe he made more than a couple of those. But this one is from 1940 and is called The Man with Nine Lives. Anytime you can watch Karloff on screen in more than worth your time. Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Scott Bradley, Cate Cameron, Doug Lamoreux, and Michael Shields.

Now on to this week’s photo. This might be a tough one, but one you can sink your teeth into! Gaze into those eyes and see if you can’t figure out what film this shot is from. Good luck!

As always, please remember not to post your answers here, but send them in an email to me at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. That way everyone has a chance.

Mystery Photo 11-28

So this post is a little later than we normally do, but after our four day weekend, where we worked probably more than we do during our normal work week, so getting anything done for the site, including a new photo, just wasn’t going to happen. But better late than never! Our last photo was from one of our Turkey Day titles that we watched a few days ago and is called The Witchmaker! Kudos to the following for getting it correct: Hoby Abernathy, Doug Lamoreux, Robert Leopold, Billy Norcera, and Michael Shields.

Now on to this week’s photo. It’s a classic and you will probably recognize the actor, but can you name the movie? Should be easy since he only made a couple of films, right?

Please remember not to post your answers here, but send us an email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com.

I always love it when I get such fond comments when I used a picture from a classic film, such as I did with our last one, from the 1957 film Curse of the Demon (or Night, depending your location!). This is one of my favorites and just gets better with each viewing. Such great performances and a wonderfully dark story, it never ceases to entertain. So a big kudos out the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Aaron Christensen, Bill Harrison, Ken Johnson, Jennifer Kilzer, Doug Lamoreux, David Schmidt, and Alan Tromp. And if you’re are one of the few out there that still hasn’t seent his film, I can’t urge you enough to change that immediately. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Okay…on to this week’s photo. I’m sure that there are some out there…okay, maybe a few….or one…that might think our next pic is from a film on the same caliber. Okay…probably not. But let that not deter you from giving it the old college try, right?

Mystery Photo 11-14

Greetings! Are we all ready for another Mystery Photo Monday? Let’s get down to it then. Our pic from last week was from the drive-in classic Grave of the Vampire (1972). Long before Blade hit the big screen, Grave had vampires battling vampires! And when they are William Smith and Michael Pataki, it can’t be all bad! Congrats out to the following that sent in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Ken Johnson, and Doug Lamoreux. Well done!

Now on to this week’s photo. Could be another tough one, or an easy one. You won’t know until you gaze into the picture below and see what that grey matter gives you. Good luck.

Of course, please remember not to post your answers here so others can have a chance. Just send us an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com.

Mystery Photo 11-7

Happy Monday Everyone! Hopefully everyone enjoyed that extra hour of sleep yesterday. I know I did. I have to say I was yet again, pleasently surprised at all the correct answers I got for our last photo. Nice to see there are plenty of Italian giallo fans out there! The pic was from the film The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave (1971). Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Aaron Christensen, Troy Howarth, Ken Johnson, Doug Lamoreux, and Bryan Martinez. Ottimo lavoro!

So let’s get to today’s little pictorial puzzle. Take a gander at it for a minute or two and see what pops into your head. As always, please remember not to post your answers here since we want everyone to have a fair chance. Just send your answer to us in an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com.  Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 10-31

Happy Halloween! And what better way to celebrate this day then with a little quiz to get your brain ready for the holiday, right? But first, I have to say that I was pleasently impressed with the correct answers that were sent in for our last photo. I thought it was going to stump everyone, but apparently not. So kudos goes out to the following: Sean Bell, Aaron Christensen, Ken Johnson, Anna Maurya, and Gavin Schmitt. Well done, indeed! The photo was from the 1968 Japanese film The Living Skeleton.

So let’s get to our special Halloween Mystery Photo. And no, it is not from one of the Halloween movies. Give me a little more credit than that. But the photo does feature a shot that could give one some nightmares or at least some late night sweats. So take a peek and see if the title comes to you.

As always, please remember not to post your answers here, but send them in an email to me at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 10-24

It seems our photo from last week was one that was recognized by quite a few of you out there. Good to hear. It was from the William Castle produced 1975 film Bug, which had Bradford Dillman fighting flaming cochroaches! Such fun. Congrats to the following that sent in the correct answer:  Gregory Avery, Brian Fukala, Ricky Hayden, Doug Lamoreux, Bryan Moose, Michael Shields, Chris Sobczak, and William Wilson.

Now on to this week’s photo. This one might be a little tougher. If you’ve seen the movie, then you most likely will remember this amazing shot. If not…well, there’s always next week, right? But give it a look and see what you got.

And again, PLEASE remember not to post your answers here. We want to give everyone a chance at these. So send your guess in an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com.
