Our last photo was from the 1969 film Malenka the Vampire, better known here in the US as Fangs of the Living Dead! This was one of the titles in the famous triple feature Orgy of the Living Dead, which also featured Revenge of the Living Dead aka Kill, Baby… Kill! Welcome to our last photo for April! That’s right . . . we’re a quarter through this year! Can only go up, right? Right??? Anyone? Okay, well there is always hope. I have to say I’m pretty proud for those of you that sent in the correct answer to last week’s photo. Sure, while the main villain is right there in the pic, the film itself, Chamber of Horrors (1966), isn’t one that seems to be more well known! Patrick O’Neal really does chew on the scenery here, but in the most entertaining way! I will say that my favorite part of this film, the “Horror Horn” and the “Fear Flasher” is the best part, even though I’ve seen more gore in a PG-13 movie that what we see here! But got to give them credit for pimping that ballyhoo! Our last photo for March! That means we’re one quarter through 2025! Wasn’t sure if we were going to make it this far, so I guess that’s a positive. But let’s get down to business. Our last photo was from the cheery film Five (1951), from writer / director Arch Oboler, a simple tale of some survivors after the holocaust. Pretty powerful stuff here, and for the budget, I think they did a pretty stellar job. You can’t watch this and not be affected, even a little bit. It’s one that definitely needs a little more attention. Kudos to Hoby Abernathy, Dave Fronto, Bob Hartman, and Erik Martin. Nice job guys!

A little late in the day, but it’s still Monday so it still counts! Didn’t get back from HorrorHound Weekend until the wee hours of the morning, so running on a very little energy right now! Sitting here in Chicagoland, having the temps hit way over 70 degrees on Friday, but as I look out my window now to see it snowing. We made it to March! Need to celebrate those accomplishments, no matter how small, right? And with our first Monday of March, that means a new photo! But first, our photo from last week was from the The Seventh Curse (1986), one of those Hong Kong horror films that blew my mind when I first saw it. Not just the gore, but the bat-shit crazy story was like nothing I’d seen before, make it one of my favorites from that era.
