Mystery Photo 11-15

I was very surprised at the number of correct answers I got for our last photo. For some reason, I thought it was a little more obscure than that, but damn if we didn’t get 12 correct answers sent in! The photo was from the 1958 film Terror from the Year 5000! I mean, how great of a title is that to begin with! I do remember learning that to stop contamination from something that is radioactive, you just needed to submerge it in water! Such a fun piece of cinema. Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Dan Brenneis, Chris Dyer, Dave Fronto, Kevin Hart, Bob Hartman, Gary McGuire, Charles Miller, Bryan Senn, Michael Shields, Vincent Simonelli, and Alan Tromp. Nicely done!

In case you didn’t notice, I’m using films that some might consider Turkeys. Granted, we all know that doesn’t mean they are bad but damn entertaining. Believe it or not, but Terror from the Year 5000 has a 2.9 rating on IMDB! Bollocks, I say! But we will be continuing that theme for the rest of the month, just to give you a little head’s up. Ready for this week’s photo? See below and see what you think. Just remember to send your guess to us in an email (at jon@kitleyskrypt.com). Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 11-8

Welcome to another Monday! And that means a new Mystery Photo! Our last photo was from Ted V. Mikels’ 1973 satanic epic Bloody Orgy of the She-Devils!!! We only got three correct answers sent in this time out, Hoby Abernathy, Kevin Hart, and Michael Shields! Well done!

Okay, so in case you hadn’t noticed, but we’re continuing with a little theme here for the month of November, if that gives you any hints. Take a peak at the lovely creature below and see if you can identify which movie this is from. Just remember to send your guess to us at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good luck!

Yes, we all know that we’ve only got 364 days left until Halloween, so we’ll just have to make the best of it, right! Plenty of time still to watch more horror movies! Now we can start pestering Satan Claws to give us some goodies for Axe-Mass, such as some new Blu-rays, or horror reference books, or any other goodies we didn’t pick up at the conventions this year. But let us not forget why we are here now … the Mystery Photo. Last week’s pick was from Frankenstein’s Daughter (1958), such a fun mess of a movie! Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Dan Brenneis, Peggie Christie, Michael Shields, and Mark Turner. Nicely done!

Now on to this week’s photo. Yes, we are sticking with a theme for this month so see if you can follow. Take a look below and send your guess to us via email, at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 10-25

Once again, running a little late today. But since we spent most of last night driving home from the Monster Bash Conference, we had a little resting to catch up on! Our photo from last week only got one correct answer and that was from William Wilson. The film was Retribution (1987). So Kudos to Will!

Our photo from this week might be a little easier, especially if you’re fans of the older black and white films. And yes, no trickery this time out, it is an actually black and white film! So take a peek and see what you can come up with. Just remember to send your guess by email at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck.

Mystery Photo 10-18

I guess not too many people picked up on my little hint for the last photo. I mentioned that things aren’t always as black and white as they seem. The shot was from a film shown during a film. The movie is Gary Sherman’s 1981 film Dead & Buried, and shot I used was from a film that Jack Albertson is showing James Farentino. But kudos to Maureen Connelly and Kevin Hart for sending in the correct answer! Well done!

So with this week’s photo, I won’t lay any word tricks or puns in here, just the photo. Just remember to send your guess to us at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

As we get another day closer to Halloween, I hope everyone is taking advantage of the season to watch some of your favorite Halloween movies, as well as taking chances on some newer titles. Since we all know that to us die-hard fans, every day is Halloween. At least this time of year, we seem a bit more normal. So to maybe give you some ideas for a movie to watch, here’s this week’s Mystery Photo. But first, let us review last week. I know it was an easier one, but still a good one. It was from Interview with the Vampire (1994). Can you believe that was almost 20 years ago?!?! Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Vero A, Gregory Avery, Peggy Christie, Chris Dyer, Kevin Hart, Lee Marohn, Bryan Martinez, Lee Nattrass, Tim Palace, Bryan Senn. Well done!

Now this week’s photo is a little deceiving, so might want to pay close attention. Some times things aren’t as black and white as they seem. Give a look and send your guess to us in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 9-27

It is still officially Monday, so while I may be a wee bit late getting this posted, here it is! Our photo from last week was from Ted V. Mikels 1971 epic film The Corpse Grinders!!! You can almost hear the trailer, can’t you? Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Gary McGuire, Jason Siegel, and William Wilson. Well done!

For this week, I will say that it is a newer film but that is all the clues I will give. So take a peek, like the guy in the photo and see what comes knocking in the recesses of your mind. Remember to just send me your answer in an email (that way I don’t forget!) to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 9-20

Welcome to another Monday, and another day closer to Halloween. But then again, we all know that Halloween is something we celebrate all year round. Well, maybe except eating all the candy … Let’s get down to business, shall we? Our last photo was from the 1974 film The Freakmaker, also known as The Mutations, starring the wonderfully entertaining Donald Pleasance and the very hidden Tom Baker. Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Brian Doering, Kevin Hart, Troy Howarth, Erik Martin, Lee Nattrass, Todd Warren. Well done indeed!

So this week’s photo might be pretty easy right off the bat. Or ax, as the case may be. Or maybe you think its that easy? Nothing like planting that little seed of doubt, huh? Take a peek and see what you think. Just send us an email with your answer to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 9-13

Running late again today with our photo, folks. We were just at the HorrorHound Weekend so are running a little ragged right now. Had to go to work today after getting maybe 8 hours of sleep the entire weekend! But it was well worth it. Had a blast there, as always. But let’s get to business! Last week’s photo was of course from Paul Naschy’s Assignment Terror. Since last month was his birthday, I figured I had to put one of his films up there. Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Peggie Christie, Dave Fronto, Kevin Hart, Troy Howarth, Mike P, and Michael Shields. Well done!

So this week’s photo might be a pretty easy one, so consider it a bone, since I’m still running on empty! Take a look and see what you can come up with. Just remember to send us your guess in an email to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Mystery Photo 9-6

Happy Labor Day to everyone! Hope you have the day off to enjoy some of the simpler things in life, like watching a movie or reading a book. Or maybe even going for a walk or bike ride. Just something to feed your passion and bring a little happiness to you. Sometimes, that is all it takes. But down to business. Our photo from last week was from a version of Dracula except done entirely with sign language, called Deafula! Made in 1975, written and directed by and starring in the lead role, is Peter Wolf. It was the first horror film ever to be filmed using the American Sign Language. While it may be considered for of an oddity, I love the fact that it actually exists. Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Bryan Martinez, and Gary McGuire. Well done!

For today’s photo, we’re going with something that might be remembered from another movie, but since that was in a black and white film, it can’t be that one. So you’ll have to think a little harder. Just remember to send your guess to us in an email (we have a better chance of not forgetting or losing it that way), to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!
