Welcome to August! Just one more month until (hopefully) the heat starts to lighten up a bit! And of course, we’re then closer to the Halloween season! Then again, we also know that EVERYDAY is Halloween, right? We survived our weekend at Flashback Weekend and had a lot of fun, as usual. This week we’ll be heading to Atlanta for our first time at Monsterama and really looking forward to that one! But let’s get to business. Our photo from last week was from the classic big monster film Them! (1955), the one that started it all here in the states. Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Jennifer Pike-Cruz, Christopher Dyer, Dave Fronto, Kevin Hart, Bob Hartman, Charles Miller, Bryan Senn, Vincent Simonelli, and Mickey Thompson. Well done, folks!

Now take a look at today’s photo and see if you can recognize this one. Might be a little tough, so don’t think too long or get stuck in the mud! Remember to send your guess to me in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. And most of all, Good Luck!

Yeap. Today definitely was a Monday. Granted, since we’re off Friday for the Flashback Weekend convention, I’ve always said that just means 20% more crap for each of the four days prior! And today was a perfect example. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to miss out on posting today’s photo!!! Our last photo was from the amazing made-for-TV movie Satan’s School for Girls, from 1973, when you could have teleplays about Big Lou trying to entice young girls at school. Great cast too, with Pamela Franklin, Kate Jackson, Cheryl Ladd, and Roy Thinnes. Fun stuff. Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Dave Fronto, Kevin Hart, AJ McIntyre, Mike Shields, Vincent Simonelli. Well done!

Now on to this week’s photo. Going with another black and white classic, but maybe not too easy to recognize from this particular shot. Take a good look and see if you can figure it out. Just remember to send your answer to me in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

Hope everyone is surviving this latest heat wave. I know parts have been absolutely brutal, so hang in there. Hopefully another month to go and we’ll get back to some cooler temps, as well as being closer to Halloween! Our photo from last week was from the 1927 version of The Cat and the Canary, and yes, there are a couple of versions of this title. But thinking of how great a time of being a horror fan is these days, you can get this film that is almost 100 years old on 4K! What a time to be alive! Congrats to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Gregory Avery, Dave Fronto, Kevin Hart, Christopher Highland, Doug Lamoreux, Jeff Owens, Michael Pniewski, Bryan Senn, Mike Shields, Todd Warren, William Wilson.

This week’s photo is a little newer than 1927. There’s your clue! Just take a peek below and see what you can come up with. Just remember to send your guess to me in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. And most of all, good luck!

After so many correct answers sent in for The Thing from Another World, it seems our last photo was a bit tougher, getting not one single guess. Hopefully that will get fixed soon, with the soon-to-be release of Severin Films Danza Macabra Vol. 5: The Spanish Gothic Collection. Because in that collection is the film from which this shot was taken from, the 1973 Leon Klimovsky film The Dracula Saga, which is a damn strange one, but damn entertaining. Better luck next time.

Speaking of which, we’re going back to another black and white one so maybe this might be a little easier. Sort of a famous title, if that gives you any ideas. Take a look below and see what you can come up with. Once you’ve got it, send me an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. And good luck!

Hopefully everyone was responsible and still has all their fingers intact. We had so much rain and thunderstorms over the last few days, I would have been surprised if we didn’t hear any fireworks going on, but there are those that were determined to try and blow themselves up. But let’s get to the real reason we’re here. I have to say, after the last week of that brutal heat, I figured last week’s photo would show that it could always be hotter! That shot was of course from The Thing from Another World (1951) and it is one that amazes me to this day, each and every time I watch it. Were there any safety people on the set that day? I mean, we have a stuntman already completely engulfed in flames, so let’s have someone else throw a bucket of frameable liquid at him… while others NOT in fire suits are standing very close to him!!!! I am also very happy to see so many people recognize the film this shot was from. Still shows that these classics, some 75 years old, can still have an effect on today’s viewers. So major kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Todd Barwick, Wendy Bodine, Tom Brennan, Aaron Christensen, Dave Fronto, Jennifer Glonek, Kevin Hart, Bob Hartman, Christopher Highland, Doug Lamoreux, Denise LoRusso, Tim Palace, Michael Pniewski, Chris Richmond, Bryan Senn, Mickey Thompson, and William Wilson. Well done, indeed!

Okay, not that’s it’s July and hopefully the rain and heat take a break for a bit, let’s get to this week’s photo. Take a look and see what you can come up with. Just send your guess to me in an email, to jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Stay cool, and good luck!

Welcome to our last photo of June. And it now seems the heat has finally hit us. Oof. Another reason to wait for October! But let’s get down to business. Last week’s photo was a tough one, and only got 2 correct answers sent in, but we did have some really good guesses. The film is from Tobe Hooper’s Toolbox Murders (2004). While not really a remake of the original 1978, it really does a great job with its own story. Worth seeing. Congrats to Tim Palace and William Wilson for correctly identifying it.

Now this week’s photo is kind of like the weather outside right now, though I must admit it was purely coincidental. But take a look, but don’t get too close or you might singe your eyebrows off! Just remember to send you guess to me at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. And most of all, stay cool and good luck!

Almost done with the first month of summer. I know it’s not too popular to say, but I’m counting the days until fall. Sure, that means Halloween is closer, but really, as I’ve stated here many times before, I don’t like the heat. Granted, we’ve had it pretty good hear this last week, so I’m not complaining too much… But pretty soon Halloween decor will start appearing in stores, if it hasn’t already! But let’s get to why we’re here. Last week’s photo was from Daughter of Dr. Jekyll (1957), starring John Agar and Gloria Talbott. Only got 2 correct answers sent in and they were from Hoby Abernathy and Kevin Hart! Well done!

So going with something a little newer with this week’s photo. Take a look and see what you think. Just remember to send your guess to me at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!

So, I tried to be a little sneaky last week, posting a pic from a popular movie, but using an image that I “thought” wouldn’t be easily recognized. Apparently, I was wrong. It was, of course, from David Cronenberg’s Scanners (1981). Kudos to the following for sending in the correct answer: Hoby Abernathy, Gregory Avery, Aaron Christensen, Kevin Hart, Bob Hartman, Christopher Highland, Michael LeBlanc, Erik Martin, Gary Miller, Richard Schellback, Mickey Thompson, Jame Turner, William Wilson, and Greg Wojick. Nicely done.

Which means this week’s photo is going to be a little more obscure. You know the rules. Take a look and then send in your guess to me in an email, to jon@kitleyskryp.com. Good Luck!

Our last photo was from the film Mother of Flies (2025) from the incredible Adams Family. If you haven’t seen any of their work, I would highly recommend it, especially The Deeper You Dig (2019) and Hellbender (2021). Only got 3 correct answers sent in this time, from Steve Adkins, Aaron Christensen, and Erik Martin. Well done!

This week’s photo is an old classic, but will you be able to recognize the title from this shot? Take a look and see if you can. Just remember to send your guess to me at jon@kitleyskrypt.com. Good Luck!
