The film opens up with a sorority initiation, with two new girls being inducted into the group. Part of the ritual is somewhat of a game of Russian Roulette, except they are using a Derringer which doesn’t have a rotating chamber. Meaning that if there is a bullet in there, it will fire. Nonetheless, in between a loud bang and some screaming, one of the girls does not survive the ritual. Years later, the remaining “sisters” are called back for a reunion in an out-of-the-way secluded mansion. They are picked up and driven to this place by a couple of guys that were just hired to drive them out there and then leave. But like most guys in the ‘70s, they decide to try and stick around to score with one of these five women.
There is someone at the mansion waiting for them, to fulfill his plan of revenge. We learn of his identity and reasons for this plot, as well as if there is one of the girls that is actually helping him.
Unfortunately, the plot is nothing new and is pretty easy to understand what is going on. The mystery of who the “secret girl” might be is no big surprise, even when it is revealed. Much like the film, the deaths are pretty routine and nothing special.
Arthur Franz plays the father out for revenge and does an okay job for what he’s given to do. He had a long career, appearing in over 150 titles, but I feel he’s just going through the paces. In the ’50s, he appeared in some great titles like Flight to Mars (1951), Invaders from Mars (1953), Back from the Dead (1957), Monster on Campus (1958), The Atomic Submarine (1959), and even playing the boxer from Bud Abbott and Lou Costello Meet the Invisible Man (1951). The only women of the group, Claudia Jennings, is somewhat of a name, mainly due to the exploitation titles she appeared in, such as ‘Gator Bait (1973) and Deathsport (1978).
This is another title put out by Shoreline Entertainment that has no menus, no extras, nothing. The film even starts automatically when you put the disc in. As for the quality, it honestly looks like it was taken from an old VHS copy. Not sure I could recommend this one, other to see an old guy try to carry out his revenge with a freaking gatling gun!!! Thanks to AV Entertainment for letting me review this new release, which you could purchase through their website HERE.
