Being sort of a fan of the work of actor/writer/director and all around horror fan Jacinto Molina aka Paul Naschy, when Creepy-Images announced yet another edition of their book Muchas Gracias Señor Lobo, not only did I know I was going to have to get a copy, but I had no idea the size of this newest edition. Plus, I didn’t know until afterwards that this would be the last edition of this book. So there’s that.

But going from what the last edition had in it, being 400 pages and 1400 images, to now having 200 more pages and bringing the image count to 2200! Now for any movie fan, especially those that are collectors of memorabilia, it is always fascinating to see not only the different posters and other promotional material that came out, but even more so when it is from many different countries! Even if you’re not a collector, or have a modest budget, at least with this book you can see all of these images at your fingertips! I know for myself, I can smile when I see a piece that I have, but then also come across one that I don’t and wonder if I could even find and afford one!

One of the cool things that they did was for first ones that pre-ordered, not sure what the exact number was, but they got an extra bonus. The first was an original linocut print inspired by La Noche de Walpurgis, which pretty cool. But even better are the 4 reproductions of some original sketches from Naschy himself, designing some of the creature from an film he was working on. There’s one from Horror Rises from the Tomb, which is my personal favorite film of his. At some point, these will be getting framed. Just need to find a place to put them!

The book is still listed on Creepy-Images website (HERE) but it not cheap. Listed at 89,00 Euro, that’s about $100 for us in the US, plus another $50 for shipping from Germany. Yeah… a bit pricey. But if you are a fan of Naschy, and his incredible movie history laid out in posters, stills, lobby cards, and more, and that this is the last edition… Just saying.

Thanks to Thorsten Benzel, and all those involved in making this edition exist. I know it is something I will continue to page through and look in wonder for many years to come.
