Well . . . hopefully. In case you were wondering why no updates or much of anything from me over the last week is that coming back from the amazing weekend at the Skyline Drive-in and their annual Super Monster Movie Fest, when I got up Monday morning, I could feel a sore throat coming on. And it got worse. Though for sure I had a sinus infection and figured I’d stay home from work and just rest, hoping it would work its way through. Silly me. When it didn’t look like I was getting any better, I went to the doctors on Thursday, tested negative for Covid, no fever, and no sinus infection. “You just have a simple cold.” I’m still calling bullshit because I’ve never had a simple cold where it felt like my head was in a vice constantly. Again, why I have trust issues with doctors.
But here’s to hoping that I finally am on the upswing. I know there are a lot of people dealing with much more serious issues than a simple cold, but damn did it knock me on my ass for a week.
In two weeks, we’ll be heading to Cincinnati for HorrorHound Weekend, which again has a HUGE guest lineup. Just click HERE for all the details. We’ll have our usual array of horror reference books to help you learn and appreciate the genre that we all love even more! My wife will also be there with her Horror Slave products, with plenty of pillows and tote bags as well!
Then the following week, we head off to the Midway Drive-in for their Dusk-to-Dawn Horrorfest, where they will be screening Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), Don Coscarelli’s Phantasm (1979), Joe Dante’s Piranha (1978), and ending up with Terror Train (1980), starring Jamie Lee Curtis! That is one hell of a lineup of classic stalkers, whether it’s in your dreams, wandering the local cemetery, taking a little swim in the local river, or taking a little train ride, something is out to get you! As usual, there will be some horror vendors set up there, including Kitley’s Krypt and Horror Slave, and a few others to make the night even more enjoyable. Come out early to hang out with a ton of other like-minded horror fiends! Just click HERE for all the latest details.
After that, we’re just a couple of weeks away from October, which is when all the madness starts! Life moves pretty fast, so we all need to make sure we take the time to enjoy it while we can. Spend time with your family, your friends, go to a movie marathon, anything to make you realize how lucky we are at that moment in time, and to really appreciate the good things in life.
