April Ghouls Drive-In Monster-Rama

For those fans of slasher films, this is one weekend you might want to plan on heading out the Riverside Drive-In in Vandergrift, PA. Over Friday and Saturday nights, Aril 28th & 29th, you’ll have the opportunity to see 8 classic slasher films on the big drive-in screen! There are some classic titles in there, as well as some rarities that will probably be the first chance of you seeing them on the big screen! Below are the titles listed for each day, along with all the other details. We’ve been there a couple of times and it is always a blast.

Love Live the Drive-In!

Flashback Weekend’s Dusk to Dawn Horror Fest!

Want to head out to a good old-fashioned drive-in theater to see some horror classics, as well as a brand new title? Then start making your plans for this Saturday, Sept. 18th, to head out to the Midway Drive-In in Dixon, IL. Below is the schedule:

5:00PM – Horror vendors – socially distanced
7:30PM – Introduction – The Manson Brothers stars Mike Carey and Chris Margetis
8:00PM – The Manson Brothers Midnight Zombie Massacre (2021)

12:00AM – Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984)

If you have not had the chance to see TCM on the big screen (and the screen at the Midway is HUGE being 90 feet across!!!) then now is your chance to experience it in a completely new way. Doesn’t matter how many times you’ve seen it on your TV, the big screen is completely different.

Flashback Weekend A Howling Success!

I just wanted to give a little bit of a shout out to Mike and Mia Kerz, and the whole Flashback Family, for giving us fans an incredible weekend. That was our first show in close to 2 years, which was just killing us not to be around our convention family and friends. But it did happen this last weekend, at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Hotel, and we had a blast.

I didn’t get a chance to take too many photos over the 3-day event mainly because we were so busy at our table! Never a bad thing. But we got to chat with plenty of fellow fans, sold a bunch of horror reference books, and got to hang out until the wee hours in the morning talking about the genre we love!

Music for the Holiday!

Silent Night Deadly NightWith all the crap going on in the world, whoever would have thought that there would be a special 2-disc edition soundtrack for the 1984 holiday horror film Silent Night, Deadly Night! What a world, right? Thanks to the fine folks at Howlin’ Wolf Records, this 2-disc special edition does exist.

I don’t have a release date, but you can pre-order your copy now, which, if you’re a fan of this movie, I would do just that because this release is only 300 CDs! You can pre-order it HERE.

The first disc has the complete score by Grammy-winning composer Perry Boktin, which is over an hour long! The second disc in a little over 30 minutes and contains all the songs written for the film by songwriter and singer Morgan Ames. It also contains a 20-page booklet with liner notes by co-executive producers Scott Schneid & Dennis Whitehead, screenwriter Michael Hickey, and composer Botkin.

Howlin’ Wolf Records went through a lot of time and effort to bring this release to the fans and from the looks of it, it looks to be well worth it. Priced at $19.95, don’t wait too long or you will think that Santa skipped your house this year!

Need Some Holiday Horror?

Yuletide Terror

When thinking about the upcoming holiday, most people don’t think about horror films. In fact, it is supposed to be a joyous time, with gifts, food, family, commercialism…oops…skip that last one. But as I said, “most” people don’t think about horror films….but we do! So one way for us to stay with the “holiday spirit”, we can now read some essays on the Christmas by some of the genre’s talented writers!
