The fine folks behind the Super-Horror-Rama screenings the Music Box Theatre have announced their 2 features for July, and they both will gnawing at your feet if you don’t come out to support them!

On Friday, July 18th, at 11:45pm, they will be screening Lewis Teague’s 1980 film Alligator, starring an amazing cast including Robert Forster, Dean Jagger, Syndey Lassick, Jack Carter, and Henry Silva. While most movie-goers might consider this film cheesy schlock, us horror fans know it’s actually a really good film!

Then on Saturday, July 19th, at 11:45pm, they will be screening Italian director Bruno Mattei’s Rats: Night of Terror (1984), starring Ottaviano Dell’Acqua (who played the poster zombie in Lucio Fulci’s Zombie), Geretta Geretta (from Lamberto Bava’s Demons), and Massimo Vanni. Sure, this might not be one of the greats from the Italian horror genre, but when is the last time you had the chance to see the work of Mattei in the theater?

Geretta at Reel Art Scream Queen Geretta Geretta, known for her role as Rosemary in Lamberto Bava’s Demons (1985), not to mention appearing in other Italian classics like Warrior of the Lost World (1983), Rats: Night of Terror (1984), Murder-Rock: Dancing Death (1984), and Shocking Dark (1989), which was recently released on Blu-ray by Severin Films, will be appearing this Saturday at Reel Art Collectibles in Berwyn, IL!

First of all, just going to Reel Art on its own is a real treat because you can find thousands of amazing movie posters, inserts, half-sheets, as well a ton of other collectibles. But now, you have even more of a reason to go, to meet the lovely and talented Geretta! She will have 8×10 stills, Demon Dolls, and Blu-Rays for purchase for her to sign, including copies of Shocking Dark, which she has an audio commentary on. You can bring your own items for her to sign as well.

Turkey Day 2012

Who would have thought that I would have made this little event that I started 10 years ago become what it is today. Those first couple of years it was just me. Then my good friend Aaron Christensen started to join me and has been my trusted co-pilot ever since. Then over the last 3 or 4 years, it really started to grow into something really special. Within the 10 years, we have gone from just one crazy movie fan putting himself through some cheesy movies, to our last event which consisted of a group of 10 diehard movie fans reveling in every second of the cinematic follies that we pick. Welcome to our 10^th Anniversary Turkey Day Marathon.

As I look back over those 10 years, I’m estimating that we have survived well over 50 films, with only 1 repeat (BLOOD FREAK). The official count of those that I can remember is 48, not counting the ones that I watched alone that first year. That is a lot of Turkey. There’s enough tryptophan in there to put down all the TWILIGHT fans that are waiting in line for the next movie! But all in all, it has been a lot of fun.
