Okay Chicago Horror fans… mark your calendar! June 4th through the 7th will be this year’s Cinepocalypse at the one and only Music Box Theatre! This was just announced yesterday, so there isn’t a lot of information yet, but now is the time to make sure you have that time free because I’m pretty sure they are going to have another amazing lineup for this year’s event.

I’ve been trying hit this film festival every year but something has always come up to stop me from making it more than a couple of nights, so I’m really hopefully that I can make it this year! We’ve been going to the Music Box for close to 30 years and I was so thrilled with they started their own film fest. So Chicago area horror fans… let’s show our support!

The Music Box Theatre in Chicago has already announced the dates for next year’s Cinepocalypse, which was recently named a top genre festival by MovieMaker Magazine. They had over 50 films playing at this year’s festival, with 9 world premieres, not to mention all the special guests that attended the event. While they haven’t announced any features just yet, with the path they’ve been on the last two years, 2019 should be just as epic. It will take place June 13th-20th. Mark your calendar.

Speaking of epic, if you purchase your tickets before January 1st, you can get an All Access Pass for only $100. If you break that down to another 50 features, that’s only $2 a movie. How can you beat that?!?! But you only have a few more weeks, so don’t delay. After the first of the year, they go up to $150 a ticket, so get them now! Or better yet, put it on your Christmas list, or maybe purchase a pass for that fellow horror film fiend. Sure would make an awesome holiday gift!

Last November, the Music Box Theatre in Chicago held the first Cinepocalypse Film Fest and it was a smashing success. So much so, that they have already announced the dates for this year’s festival. And even better, we don’t have to wait until November!

Mark your calendars because this year’s festival will take place from June 21st through June 28th, bringing another round of amazing horror films from around the world. Last November, we were there catch a rare screening on an Italian 35mm print of Dario Argento’s Suspiria with star Jessica Harper in attendance! We also got to see Housewifem the newest film from director Can Evrenol, which just blew me away.

So start making your plans to attend this year’s Cinepocalypse for another week of international horror!

This November, a new film festival will be coming to Chicago’s Music Box Theatre that will give genre fans a “full week of ass-kicking genre movies!” That was a sure way to get my attention! All I can say is that it is about time for something like this to come to the Music Box. With the success of their 24-hour marathons, it is only a natural fit.

Josh Goldbloom, Founder and Artistic Director of The Awesome Fest and what was known as Bruce Campbell’s Horror Film Festival, has now joined Ryan Oestreich from the Music Box to give fans something “bigger, better and scarier than any in the festivals history.”
