On May 5th, 1862, General Ignacio Zaragoza and 2000 loyal men, fortified the town of Puebla and held strong against an invasion of 6000 French troops when they attacked the city. At the end of the day, the French retreated. It may not have turned the tables on the war against the French but it was a symbolic victory for the Mexican government and their people. So now on May 5th of each year, people of Mexican descent celebrate their heritage, remembering that great victory. Or for everyone else, to eat tacos and drink Tequila!

In his first inaugural address as the 32nd President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt gave his speech that included that famous line quoted above. This took place on March 4th, 1933. This was given to a country that was still desperately trying to survive the great depression, so there was a lot to be afraid of. And there still is today. We’re not going to get political here, but focus on the subject of “fear itself”, as in personal fear. What are YOU scared of? Snakes? Sharks? Nuclear holocaust? Zombies? Ghosts? In 2010, the Kryptic Army was formed, where brave soldiers fought monthly battles, some much tougher than the last. But they stood tall and face those horrors with honor and pride. But once 2014 came to an end, when all the dust had settled, the wounded were cared for and mended, the war was over, and the soldiers were released from duty.

But now the call to arms has returned. To all the Veterans that served in the last 5-year battle, there are still more challenges ahead, if you wish to return to active duty.
