FINALLY! I will now have the chance to see my absolute favorite Paul Naschy film in the theater! Thanks to the Alamo Drafthouse in Chicago, in part of their Terror Tuesday series, on March 17th, they will be screening this iconic classic of the Spanish horror genre, Horror Rises from the Tomb! And yes, I will be there!!! This film has it all… Zombies, decapitated villains, blood, gore, nudity, and Paul Naschy in dual roles! Actually, 3 roles if you want to get technical! If you’ve never experienced one of the biggest horror stars of Spain, this is the perfect film to start with.
You could even get there early and catch the screening of Stephen King’s Maximum Overdrive (1986), that is screening at 7pm.
I meant to put up a post about this earlier but since I was still questioning if I was going to survive this plague I’d been dealing with, but a couple of days ago they screened Jess Franco’s The Sadistic Baron Von Klaus (1962), but knew I couldn’t make that one, as much as I wanted to.
On the 24th, they will be screening the rare Spanish horror A Bell from Hell (1973), which is one twisted film, but a must see if you never have. And if you have, now is your chance to see it in the theater!
Then on the 31st, you can see the Spanish giallo The Corruption of Chris Miller (1973). For more information, just click HERE.
