Regular followers of the Krypt know not only my affection for the drive-ins and these horror marathons that are held there, like I recently posted about our trip to the Midway Drive-In a couple of weeks ago. But not only are there other drive-ins out there, but a lot of them are also doing very similar things by hosting special horror film screenings throughout the month of October. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the Halloween season than spending the night at the drive-in, watching a bunch of classics to modern horror films. If you’re out towards the east side of Pennsylvania, then you probably already know about the Mahoning Drive-In, located in Lehighton, PA. They are always having horror and monster fests, with special guests and all sorts of craziness. Or there is the Starlite Drive-In in Wichita, KS, that is having screenings throughout October as well. In fact, there are TONS of these theaters taking part in these Horrorfests!

So, head over to Drive-Ins Near Me, find what is close to you, see what they are playing, and make those plans. And if there one isn’t that close to you, then make a mini-vacation out of it! Head out there in the morning, get a hotel room, hit the drive-in for some great movies, then crash a bit at the hotel the next day. Trust me, I’ve traveled several hours over the years to spend a couple of days by the drive-in to watch movies. Crazy to some, but it’s a lot of fun. Sometimes, especially in today’s world, you have to take those little breaks from reality to keep you sane. And chomping on corn dogs and popcorn at the drive-in is a sure way to do it. At least, if you ask me!
