I know we’re always promoting and talking about how great the Music Box Theatre here in Chicago is (because it is!), but I recently found out about a theater in Wind Gap, PA that seems to not only play some amazing genre films quite a bit, but they also have some mini fests coming up that makes me want to take a road trip! The Gap Theatre (click HERE to get to their website) has plenty of amazing titles, double features, and other screenings lined up on their schedule. But there were 3 different ones that had me drooling.
On October 11th, from 9pm to 1:30am, they are hosting a Francorama, screening 3 different titles from Jesus Franco: Female Vampire (1973), The Erotic Rites of Frankenstein (1973), and Dracula, Prisoner of Frankenstein (1972). Tickets are only $20 per person.
Then on Oct. 26th, there is House of Amicus, with 4 different screenings: Dr. Terror’s House of Horrors (1965), Psychopath (1966), The House that Dripped Blood (1971), and I, Monster (1971).
And finally, saving the best for last, on Friday Nov. 7th & 8th, they are hosting a 2-day Fulci Fest! On Friday, they are screening The Gates of Hell aka City of the Living Dead (1980), House by the Cemetery (1981), and Murderock (1984). Then on Saturday, they are screening Lizard in a Woman’s Skin (1971), Don’t Torture a Duckling (1972), The Psychic (1977), Zombie (1979), The Beyond (1981), Zombi 3 (1988), and A Cat in the Brain (1990). Talk about knocking a huge Need-to-See-on-the-Big-Screen list!
