For fans of the first two Blade films, Stephen Norrington’s Blade (1998) and Guillermo del Toro’s Blade II (2002), they are both getting a deluxe edition of their original soundtracks, both being released by Varèse Sarabande.

Mark Isham’s score for Blade was originally released in 1998, as a 33-minute score, this new edition features 45 tracks with a total running time of 72-minutes.
For del Toro’s Blade II, Marco Beltrami’s score was originally released in 2002 with another 33- minute release. But now, this new deluxe edition is a 2-CD release, running 97-minutes!
Both have liner notes by Daniel Schweiger.
Normally I get my soundtracks from Screen Archives Entertainment, which has these both for $24.95 for Blade and $29.95 for Blade 2. But if you order them directly from Varèse Sarabande, you have a couple of different options to save a few $$. They have Blade listed for $20 and Blade II for $25, or you can order both for only $39! Or, if you prefer just a digital format, you can purchase a digital download for $15 for each title.
No matter what format, I just love the fact that these scores are being kept alive and still giving fans these deluxe editions to films that we love. As a huge fan of horror soundtracks, which I always have playing when I’m working on this site or doing any sort of writing, I know I’ll be adding these to my collection!
