Midway Drive-In Horrorfest Next Weekend!

Now is your chance to see 4 classic horror films on the big screen, like they were meant to be! Not to mention seeing them in the company of other like-minded crazy horror fans! Next Saturday, on Sept. 24th, at the Midway Drive-in, located in Sterling, IL, they will be holding their annual Horrorfest, featuring some incredible titles: John Carpenter’s They Live (1988), Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984), Pieces (1982), and Doctor. Butcher M.D. (1980)! Plus, the first 500 people that get there will get a free Doctor. Butcher M.D. Barf Bag, thanks to sponsor Severin Films!

There will be some horror vendors set up there (including Kitley’s Krypt and Horror Slave), and plenty of fun to be had. What a great way to start the Halloween season than getting to see some amazing films on a HUGE 90 ft. screen!?!?

The box office opens at 5pm with the first film starting approximately at 8pm, so make sure you get there earlier to get a good spot and have plenty of time to enjoy the day. Also please remember that drive-ins make their money not from the box office receipts but from the sales at the concessions. So, while you can bring your own food if you buy a Food Permit (for $10), why not leave the food at home and help support the Midway by visiting their concession stand throughout the evening. They have a lot of variety of classic drive-in food from hamburgers and hot dogs to popcorn and corndogs to even pizza! And honestly, isn’t that part of the whole drive-in experience, heading up to the snack bar in between features and grabbing something to eat!
