Accademia Giallo

I’m not sure why I haven’t posted about these earlier (Sorry Ian!), but over the last several months, I have been honored to be invited to participate in this podcast done by Ian Simmons, from Kicking the Seat, in which Ian is learning about the Italian giallo, but picking a new movie each month and discussing afterwards. Now before we go further, let me back up a bit. Mr. Simmons has been running his Kicking the Seat podcast since 2012, after starting his blog in 2009. You can quickly tell how much of a passionate film fan he is, and is always entertaining to listen to. You might not agree with him all the time, but that is the whole point to being a movie fan, discussing our different thoughts on the motion picture industry.

I’ve been on Ian’s show a few times and have always had a great time. When he mentioned that he was going to be doing this Accademia Giallo show, helping him learn more about the giallo sub-genre, I was more than thrilled to join him, along with Dr. AC (Aaron Christensen) and Bryan Martinez from The Giallo Room and Film Deviant. In the past, we covered titles like Black Sunday (yes, I know, not a giallo, but watch the episode to know why it is included) and Strip Nude for Your Killer, as well as a few others, which are available on the Kicking the Seat Youtube channel (just click HERE).

One of the reasons for this post it to let you know this coming Sunday, June 27th, at 2pm (CST), we will be doing a live discussion of the next entry of Accademia Giallo, What Have You Done with Solange (1972) from director Massimo Dallamano, starring Fabio Testi, Cristina Galbó, and Camille Keaton. This will be live on Youtube which you can watch by clicking HERE.
