Roar at the Music Box…Virtually!

roar

In 1981, director / writer / actor Noel Marshall made a film called Roar that is like no other film you’ve seen. And then when you learn the story of what really happened on the set, it is even more shocking and amazing that anybody survived. Tippi Hedren (who was married to Marshall), and her kids, including Melanie Griffith, all appear in the film about a guy who lives with a bunch of wild animals. Seems pretty simple, except they really were wild animals. Several of the cast and crew were injured, some pretty severe from these beasts.

Starting today, the Music Box Theatre is offering virtual screenings of this incredible film. For only $9.99, you have a 3-day rental of this film. This goes to help support the Music Box during the temporary closure due to the pandemic. So if you’re a fan of the Music Box and want to help support it, this is a great way. Plus, you get to see a movie like no other!

  1. Michelle, Pata, and I watched this together and I can’t remember feeling as tense EVER during a movie. It was like every minute was holy sh*t holy sh*t holy sh*t holy sh*t holy sh*t holy sh*t holy sh*t holy sh*t. It’s a truly unique piece of cinema.

I’m sure we must have talked about it before, but I have clearly forgotten the conversation. Glad you’ve seen it and that you’re getting the word out about it. (My only regret is the fact that it’s the popularity of Tiger King that inspired MB to program it.)
