Full Lineup Announced for Music Box of Horrors

With just a little over a month away, the Music Box has announced the rest of the titles that will be screening at this year’s Music Box of Horrors. With only 3 out of the 12 titles being screened from a DCP, the rest will all be from 35mm. Previously announced titles were Lord of Illusions (1995), Child’s Play (1988), Freddy vs Jason (2003), Body Melt (1993), Wicked Wicked (1973), and Goke, Bodysnatcher from Hell (1968). But now posted on the theater’s website, we have the rest of the titles in the lineup. They are:

The Lodger (1927) – Alfred Hitchcock’s original version of this tale of Jack the Ripper. This will have a live score from False Gods Trio, and screened from a DCP format.

Blame It on Toby (2018) – This will be the Midwest Premiere of this new short film (52 min.), directed by Richard Knight, with the cast and crew in attendance! Kevin J. O’Connor stars as an eccentric rich man who keeps an antique doll named Toby with him at all times. O’Connor was already announced as a guest at this year’s marathon!

The Children (2008) – This is one film that is tough to watch, but an excellent horror film. At a winter family get together, for some unknown reason, the children turn into little murderers. If you haven’t seen this one, you’re in for a great ride. DCP.

The Children

Fright Night 2 (1988) – While no where near as good as the original, I’ve always been fond of this sequel. Sure, it might have something to do with the alluring Julie Carman, or the fact that Roddy McDowall is always entertaining to watch. From 35mm.

Fright Night 2

The Mafu Cage (1978) – A very strange tale starring Lee Grant and a young Carol Kane. From 35mm.

Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers (1988) – While most people first seen this late ’80s slasher on video, now is your chance to see it on the big screen from a 35mm print!

There will be the usual madness there, such as food trucks, and plenty of dealers, such as Pretty Spooky Handmade, House of Movie Monsters, Graveface Records and Curiosities, Tattoos by Chloe Pinnock, artist Jonathan La Manti, and of course, we will be set up there as always, with plenty of our horror reference books to help guide you on your way in your horror education! Not to mention plenty of pillows and tote bags from Horror Slave!
