16 Tracks with a Total Running Time of 43 min.
Music by Joseph Bishara
This one is a very different kind of score. It doesn’t have the usual instrument sounds that you can pick out right away. Not sure if it is some strings or maybe just a keyboard using some electronic devices. But no matter what Bishara is using, he is still able to create some nice atmosphere here. He brings a sense of dread, not overpowering, but more a little subdued.
With tracks like Baited Lady, he comes up with some strange and uneasy noises that build a nice effect. Other tracks, like May He Rest, are almost peaceful and serene, while some of them have the tempo and pace picking up, like in Running Dry. One of the later tracks, Fire Drops In, starts out with a great sound of rumbling of banging, either from drums or a bass, but it builds up a nice tension that then slowly quiets down. Same goes with the next track, Life in Balance, which bursts with noise but in rhythm.
I’m not sure how much this score would stick in your mind, but it does well when played in the background and I’m sure is effective in the film itself. But it will make me pay a little more attention to Bishara and his work.
