Need Some Holiday Horror?

Yuletide Terror

When thinking about the upcoming holiday, most people don’t think about horror films. In fact, it is supposed to be a joyous time, with gifts, food, family, commercialism…oops…skip that last one. But as I said, “most” people don’t think about horror films….but we do! So one way for us to stay with the “holiday spirit”, we can now read some essays on the Christmas by some of the genre’s talented writers!

In this new book called Yuletide Terror: Christmas Horror on Film and Television, it features essays by the likes of Stephen Thrower, Michael Gingold, Lee Gambin, Kier-La Janiesse, Amanda Reyes, and of course our buddy David Canfield! It covers titles such as like Silent Night, Deadly Night (and the controversy around the film), Christmas Evil, Elves, BBC’s A Ghost for Christmas, as well as almost 200 reviews of Christmas horror films and TV movies. Edited by Paul Corupe and Kier-La Janisse, you know the book is going to be well worth your time and money.

Keep in mind, these small press titles tend to go out-of-print pretty fast, so if you’re the slightest bit interested, you might want to order your copy now, which you can do HERE from the publisher, Spectacular Optical.

Or, if you live in the Chicago area and want to take a chance, Mr. David Canfield, one of the authors, will be doing a book signing at the Heirloom Books at some point in mid-December. They don’t have the date set just yet, but we will post it here when they do.
