Last year when Italian composer Fabio Frizzi made a small American tour, playing themes from some of the amazing films that he had scored over the years, to say I was bummed I didn’t make it to one of them is an understatement. But now I have something that will make up for that lost opportunity!

Frizzi will shortly be announcing of a tour where he will be playing a live score during a screening of Lucio Fulci’s 1981 film The Beyond. And one of the stops on this tour will be Chicago’s Music Box Theatre, which is set to take place on Thursday, October 6th, at 8:00pm. You can get all the information from the Music Box website HERE.
The Beyond is one of my favorites of Fulci, and of Italian cinema. One of the many reasons for this is the incredible score that Frizzi created for this hallucentory horror tale. Having the chance to see the film on the big screen (once again) but this time with the music being played live right in front is going to be an incredible experience. This is just one more thing that is going to make my October another awesome one, and a very busy one. But we wouldn’t have it any other way!
For more details, check back to the Music Box’s website HERE, which I’m sure they will be updating at some point.
That would be a once in a lifetime experience!
