Want your life to have a
challenge? Want an excuse to watch more movies? Want to win
FREE PRIZES? Then all you need to do is join The Kryptic Army! Now, I
know what you're thinking. Just what is this "Kryptic Army", and am I
going to get shipped off overseas? Well, the only time foreign countries
are going to be involved is when we're talking about movies and where they are from.
Our goal / mission for the
Kryptic Army is simple: To help point out some sub-genres or films that you might have
missed out so far. And to have fun. Here's how it works:
-
First of all, you have to sign up for our
Kryptic Mailing list (you knew there was a catch to this, didn't you?).
You can do that by scrolling down to the bottom of this page. If you are
already on our mailing list, then you already are eligible to participate.
-
On the first of every month, you will be
sent a new Mission through the mailing list. In this Mission, it will
name a Horror Sub-Genre or particular theme for that month. It could be
something like Jess Franco films, or films starring a particular actor.
-
Your Mission will be to find and watch 2 films from
that Sub-Genre that you have not seen before within that month. Yes, they have to be Horror films. If you're not sure if it qualifies,
email me and we'll discuss. But you have to sign in our Mailing List to
participate, otherwise you will not be receiving the monthly Missions.
-
After watching these films, you will have to
be "debriefed". This means you need to email me the titles you watched
and what you thought of them. Not looking for an essay here, just
maybe a sentence or two on if you liked them or not.
-
Here's where it gets fun. For each
month that you complete your mission, and you email me the details, your name
will be thrown into a drawing, which will be held at the end of the year.
The more times you participate throughout the year, the more times your name
will be in there. For example, if you complete all 12 missions, then
your name will be in the pot 12 times, giving you more chances to
win.
-
Prizes will consist of DVDs, autographed
items, and other highly valuable items. See below for the previous
prizes that were given out.
We will also have a Message
Forum where you could go and discuss further the films that you watched in more
of an open and detailed manner, comparing what films everyone has watched.
You could also use this forum to find titles if you're having troubles with the
particular category. To visit our Message Board to discuss what you've
seen, just click
HERE.
Also, we will be going on
the honor system of you selecting films that you have not seen before. But
we do have spies out there watching. If we find out that you've actually
seen the movie before, you will be captured, identified as a traitor, and served
up as the main course at the Kitley's Annual Halloween Party the following October.
And if you've seen how some of these people eat that come to the party, you
won't be in too good of shape.
So here's how you get
started. If you are already on our mailing list, then you don't need to do
anything until you receive your first mission. If you are not on our
mailing list, then enter your email address below. Then come first of the
month, wait for your instructions.
Good luck on your missions,
and looking forward to hearing from you. And remember....let's have some
fun with this!
